Since no Depth Chart has been officially released yet (that I know of), I thought I would take a stab at the O’s two-deep depth chart. One thing is for sure we have a real second team O. this year and it will be AUsome to watch all these guys play. Anyone else see it another way? I will work on the D later it’s a little harder though. WDE!!!

1st team O

QB- Cam Newton

TB- (Super) Mario Fannin

FB/HB- Eric Smith

TE- 43 Philip Lutzenkirchen

WR- Terrell Zachery

WR- Darvin Adams

LT- Lee Ziemba

LG- Mike Berry

C- Ryan Pugh

RG- Byron Isom

RT- A.J. Green

2nd Team O.

QB- B. Trotter

TB- Onterio McCalebb

FB-/HB- Shawn Kitchens

TE-Dakota Mosley ???

WR- Q.Carr

WR- Trovon Reed???

LT- Brandon Mosley

LG- Bart Eddins

C- Blake Burgess

RG- John Sullen

RT- Chad Slade

Looks excellent to me. Question for you though. We run lots of 3 WR sets. Who do you see as the #3 WRs with the 1s and who with the 2s? I think either Emory Blake Stays with the 1s or T-Reed moves up with them. Then Benton gets in rotation with the 2s.

I think Kitchens will see more playing time than Eric Smith, he's just more explosive.  I think T Reed will be the 3rd WR, whether he starts or not, I think he'll have more catches than all other WRs besides Zachery and Adams.

I would be surprised if Burns isn't ahead of Reed at wideout initially. Reed is explosive, but he doesn't have much experience in our offense or at wideout and he is slowed with the knee injury right now.

I agree, Burns will be in the two deep and will likely play a lot. I expect a breakout year from him at WR.

Did he graduate or skip his sr season ; why does everyone leave off WR JW #82 ?

My bad!!!  How could I leave him off.  He will also be in the rotation.  I hope CGM can utilize all of them.  There are others who also may get PT.

He's not going to get the amount of PT he did last year IMO.

I think:

QB Newton

RB Fannin

WR Adams

WR Zacharey

WR Burns

HB Lutz

OT Zeimba

OG Berry

C Pugh

OG Isom

OT Greene (kid has really done a 180)

you my friend are wrong eric smith will need to be in there for blocking because last year he was a beast running out in front of tate and blocking and even though Kitchens is basically a reciever eric smith is also very good in the passing game.so Smith will play more than Kitchens.

I am not disputing that he will get less work I just think he has made some clutch catches to keep drives going and he blocks well.

I think TZAC AND Adams and Blake are the primary 3 but if D. Benton catches his first pass this year it may turn into 40 this year.

RBU,

Q Carr has done twice as much as Blake and Benton combined on the field. So why wouldn't he get major playing time before them?

Carr is going to be a stud this year... its just that simple.

Carr is an HHS boy and i would like nothing better its just that CGM told me what I am saying to you.

Eric Smith will start as H-Back.  Did anyone see how important this guy is to our offense?......He is a great blocker in the running game, and he can be utilized in the recieving game.  I expect some good things from him this year.

this thread just points to the versitility and depth that the offense has....  never had this much talent on offense...  even in 2004

WOW!!  take the 31 pts as we will be better on second team defense as well

Smith may be the best all-around player on our team. He had some great catches on 3rd or 4th and long last year. His downfield blocking is tremendous. He was solid on special teams and would probably be a decent short-yardage back if needed.

The Q. is the the #3 WR. And I would not be surprised if he was the #1 receiver by the seasons end. Cam is going to go deep alot and the Q. is fast, really fast and has good hands. CAn't wait to see this Offense!!!

Is it Saturday yet?
