Hi there, and I’m Cat.  I prefer that, but it’s taken, so I’m BhamCAT….lol

I’ve spent tons of hours on many different websites (mostly gun sites) and been admin or mod before, but on sites with less traffic than this.    They all work basically the same.  A SMALL percentage of people post, and the rest of the members check in to read those posts.  It happens on all forums and is human nature.  We (lurkers) know who you all are, we read your comments all day, and it can be intimidating at times to jump into the fun.

I’ve been lurking for a few weeks, not posted much……….this is the gist of my post, and I hope you will stay with me for it all.  You may already be saying, “This guy sure talks a lot to get to the point!” and you are correct.  Just wait until the season starts…….

So……I lurked for weeks, and made 3 posts I think, prolly average for people new to a site.  I was looking forward to the Plant/Manatee game all week.  I checked the “blog thread” just to keep up.  I had more fun Friday night “watching” that game with you guys than I could describe.  I can’t imagine what the actual season will be like in a week.

I found this site from a post on auburninsider.  Stop slapping me.  The post was about how it was an over moderated nazi type site.  That is why I posted this, with a noob angle added.  I don’t like over moderation, and the complaints seemed legit.  Then I checked it out here.  I see why things are “as they are”.  Free speech gets out of hand in a hurry, and this site and the direction it appears to be headed doesn’t need the crap that is weeded out.  I really expected to come here and dog the “blanket” censorship, and instead, appreciate and understand all the reasons behind it.

Now, you really are wishing I would shut up.

I feel like I know a few of you already, but I’m surprised by the number of “new” posters I’ve seen……….that is the sign of a healthy site.  I understand that “you all regulars” know each other.......

This season looks like it might be special.  We have fans that have only recently found this site.    Let’s extend the big welcome to all new site members.  I would like to know more about them, encourage ALL newbs to post, and even see the regular posters let us know more about you.

I’ll start.  I attended (yes, means I didn’t graduate) from 86-88, and bleed O&B.  I now run an engraving business out of my house.  Next please…………….

Welcome home Bigcat.  You are right in that watching games on here is fun.  I am in Texas and watched every game while on here last year.  This site really enhances the game for those who unable to be there.  Post often  :we:

:we: Welcome BHAMCAT as you have found out, this is the best site on the net , with wonderful people who love Auburn and bleed O&B.  Some of us don't post often, but check this board everyday 2 or 3 times.  The Mods are great and the folks are knowlegable. WDE and DWWD. :wareagle:

I am the Super Mod and I approve this message.  HAHA!  In all seriousness, though, welcome to AE, sir!  I am glad that so many of you enjoy our site. 

I believe we give plenty of leeway when it comes to the discussion of Auburn sports in general and recruiting.  There are certain subjects that we like to keep off the boards and we will not allow the bashing of players and admins. of our beloved university.  That, along with the fact that we like to keep debates civil, is how we roll. 

It seems as though the great majority of you respect our wishes and love this site.  For the rest of you, I'm sorry but maybe AE just isn't for you.  Again, welcome to all the newbs out there.  Please post often and enjoy your time here at AE.  WDE!!!

We were at AU at the same time.  I  graduated in 1987.  I don't post much either but I'm here daily.  Nice to meet you and War Eagle!

welcome my Auburn Brother. Thats what this board is for. This is the best Auburn site period. You will come accross alot of sites that make you want to puke, but this is not one of them. Welcome and post often. WAR EAGLE!
