Any suggestions as the best place to eat if we are not tail-gating on game day?  My wife and I will be there early so she can shop....:)  gotta keep her happy.  Then thought we would grab lunch in Tiger Town....drive into Auburn, park and stroll through Toomer's area and soak in the excitement.  Are there any new places or better places to eat from there to the stadium?  I am class of 79...love to walk, but want to save a little for the game:)

Love any feedback.......War Eagle!!!  I am ready to suit up today..

I'm going to have to get some Momma G's for lunch today after reading this thread.  So glad we've got it here in Birmingham now.

hahaha, i live right behind Momma G's   :tease:

That's great.  I only live 2 miles from there so I'm not far behind you.  In fact, I live in Harmon so I am very close to the new one across from Wal Mart.

I hear you J-S.  I always got two Momma's Loves with Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips and a large sweet tea (lunch) or Bud Light (Supper).  Ah, brings back wonderful memories.  I lived a half block from there.  Across from the University Credit Union and C-Zone parking lot, at Campus Courtyard Apt. 34!  Then go down West Magnolia towards Wire and Mom's Party Shop was on the right inside Eagle's West.

If you are not necessarily looking for something within walking distance, I always have to make a stop by Niffers for a burger and potatoe chips.  Another one within walking distance would be Amsterdam.  I love the turkey wrap.

Sorry Mr Gatti's closed almost 8 years ago. I would say that Momma G's is the place to be as well, although the Big Momma gets my vote. and skip the nacho's. I would have said Mike And E's, but they are usually closed on game days

Yea, time does fly.  I remember when Milo's was still there and it was my favorite stop during the week.  Then came the whole chicken finger fiasco (would not add to the menu).  The funny thing is after that they started serving fingers at all of their restaurants.

Wait, Milo's isn't there anymore?  I used to go there for lunch a few times a week.

HAHA!  I remember all that and wish it was still there.  Milo's is some good stuff.  I'm from Georgia (living in Auburn now, of course) and never get to eat it unless I'm headed to Birmingham for some reason.  'Can't go wrong with Cheeburger, btw.  MAN!  This thread's making me hungry.

Don't know about the chicken finger fiasco, but we ate at Milos a lot. One day we walked in and saw the owner was back after being gone awhile.

Us: Where you been man?

Him: Hospital, I had a heart attack.

Us: You are too young for a heart attack!

Him: I eat here every day.

I don't remember going back after that.

Is that Little Italy Pizzeria still on Magnolia (within the same block as Toomer's)?  Last year we went there and it had decent pizza and great prices on pitchers of "beverages".  The best part was its convenience to the bookstores and Toomers....

Momma G's you just cant compete with, and had 17 other people not said it already, I would go with that, but I'll offer up a little Cheeburger Cheebuger a block or two from Toomers.

It's still there and going strong from what I hear.  I can't believe I'm saying this, but I have yet to try it.  'Hears it's really good, though.
