Boise State vs. Virginia Tech

What are everybodies thoughts on this game?

Im gonna go out on a limb and say Boise State is gonna come out and win...kinda convincingly.

By more than a Touchdown. Maybe two. They have to be stressing the crap out of this game. Alls they have to do is win and wait for the 2 in front of them to fall and they are in the National Championship game. History is pretty much riding on this game for Boise State.

I hope Va Tech sends them right back to the potato patch. Give me a call when they have to deal with an SEC or real world conference schedule. Yes, they have been good. Do I believe they could play in the SEC and do what they've done regularly?  NO!!!!!!

If they would just schedule some half decent opponents we could maybe see a glimpse of what they are really made of. They play one tough opponent every year. Almost ANY team can beat one tough opponent a year!!! But can you handle that week in and week out is the question. Its tough to tell when they have the schedule they have. They cant really argue that they arent getting a chance when they have no challenge on the way to getting there.

What makes Boise scary is "the unknown factor" I think they have. You see them beat a team like Oregon last year but thats all you see. You dont know if it was a fluke, you dont know anything because they dont play anymore worthy opponents. I guess thats why nobody wants to play them. Because im pretty sure i saw where they were offering to play anybody in the country and it looks like nobody has really taken them up on their offer.

So sick of the talk about Bosie State in the National Championship race. I hope they get beat bad by Va Tech. When they play with the big boys, they can't hang on a consistant basis. They had their moment with Oklahoma, Oregon, and Oregon State. But they also lost to the likes of Louisville, Boston College, Georgia, Oregon State, Washington, and East Carolina.

There is a big different playing in a BCS conference where you are going to see 10x the NFL talent that they see in the WAC. Back ups in the SEC would be starting for every one of the WAC teams.

The big boys recruit on a completely different level than WAC teams, and if they were in a real conference, that would be proven time and time again.

I think Boise St is a good team, better than most people here think. But I still think Va Tech is better. They have the best RB tandem in the nation, an experienced athletic QB, and a good defense. They are NC contenders this year

Boise doesnt deserve a shot at the championship.  They dont play anyone.  Theyre 6-8 against bcs teams in bowls.  Chris low was right when he said that they are a good one-game team but they would basically be a middle-of-the-pack team in the SEC.  They found out how hard it is in the SEC when they played UGA and Arky and got smashed both times.  They can beat good teams once or twice a year because all the other games they play is nothing more than a scrimmage.  Va Tech is gonna show them what its like to play a good team.  Va Tech is basically an SEC team so we shall see.  Gooooo Hokie Pokies!!!!!!

VT rips the smurfs to shreds. Normally I would cheer for BSU, mainly because I like the smurf turf, but Im SOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick of hearing about how they deserve to be in the championship game when they play one good school a year. I say bring them on down to Jordan Hare and we show them they don't deserve crap

For BSU:

Boise State scheduled Virginia Tech & Oregon State.  Very few (any?) SEC teams would schedule those two teams in the same year, no?

Although STUCK in the WAC, Boise State would give their eye-tooth to be invited to play in a BCS conference.

Boise State is unbeaten at home since 2001.

Against BSU:

-Georgia KILLED them a few years ago in a similar scenario.  Their qb, Zabranski (sp?), was a Heisman hopeful.  They were dark horses to win the NC.  It was 0-38 before BSU got a single point.

-WAC

- 0-2 vs. SEC

======================================================================================

Having said all of that, Boise State lost their "stellar" DC, Justin Wilcox, to TN.  VaTech is neither Oregon nor TCU.  The venue is a "neutral" site.  Anyone know which FedEx Field it is?  Beamer's "my" Tyrod is an experienced senior.  during the spring scrimmage he "completed 16 of 17 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns. He threw his one incompletion while trying to avoid a sack."  Saying that VaTech has the best RB tandem in the country could only be said by an Auburn fan.  Haha!

I'll say, VaTech 16 BSU 15, just like last year's VaTech/Nebraska game.

I got to agree with everyone here. Boise State was a nice story when they beat Oklahoma 43-42...but since then...not anymore. Ugh, I think VT wins but you never know about Boise State - they are good on a single big game.

I hope VT stomps a mudhole in the smurf turf representatives. They don't deserve to be in the NCG even if they beat Tech. They've played two good teams per year. One at the beginning of the season when they've had months to prepare for them. Then they play the preschoolers they call the WAC. They follow that up by playing a good team in a bowl game, again after a month off to prepare. Did I mention that those games are usually neutral site games. Go on the road and play in a true hostile environment two or three weeks in a row like BCS schools do and come out winners then come a talk to me. I don't fault them for their conference games but I do fault them for the non-conference ones.

Thats one thing I forgot in my previous post.  Boise is terrible in front of large crowds.  Theyre used to their little stadium.  When they played UGA, the noise threw them off of their game so bad it was imbarrasing.

I think most of the country including myself will be pulling for Virginia Tech.  Boise State needs to play in a respectable conference if they want respect.
