Reggie Ragland

I'd love to get Ragland, Casher, and Kwon Alexander as our LBers next class.

I don't know about the other 2, but Casher really likes Auburn. Alexander (I heard) is leaning towards uat. I hope Flint can get in his ear and change that.

I read where he is really liking bama right now since everyone is comparing him to Rondo McClain. All I can say is go get em coach!!!

Yeah, and Spencer Region is the best OL Saban has ever seen too, right?  :banghead:

 no offense to Reggie but I've played against him in basketball and baseball and football and he can't be compared to the best athlete to come out of North Alabama in the last 10 years. Rolando was a FREAK in High School. Reggie's great but Rolando was untouchable.

I disagree I played both in basketball and McClain is not in the same classification as Ragland as far as a run jump athlete.  Now he may be a better football player have better instincts and things of that nature but they aren't close as far as agility and explosiveness.

Quotes From Reggie:

"The visit to Auburn was real nice," said Reggie Ragland. "I'll say it's a lot different than Alabama. Everyone at Alabama is real serious. At Auburn everyone is just laid back, but hype at the same time.

"I talked to coach Chizik in his office before the game," he said. "He told me he would love for me to come to Auburn. He said I could start right off the bat. He said everyone at Auburn is one big family.

"I like that it's real laid back down there," said Ragland. "The coaches are cool. I talked to the basketball coach and a few of the players while I was there. Everyone seems really cool."

He says that he may be back in Auburn for the USC game.

I guess we will just disagree on all counts then.

I guess so.  Also I don't know about you but I'm comparing Ragland as sophomore to McClain as a senior.  There's no telling how much stronger and faster Reggie may be once he's actually a senior.  I know myself personally I first dunked in 10th grade and it was one of those barely one hand dunks that you could do in warm ups but never in a game.  Bout time I was a senior I could dunk 1 hand 2 hand backwards however you wanted it.  There's no telling what type of athlete Ragland will end up being once he graduates.

We're around the same level then athletically. Its hard to compare the two because they aren't built the same. Reggie is definitely the most physical athlete i've played against but he also can be slow with decision making at times. No matter what, I'd love to have him on the Plains.

and do yall think CGC actually told Reggie that he'd start right off the bat?

I don't think he said it like that for sure.  I believe he told him that if he is the best LB, then he could start right off the bat.

You have a point.  But if it can get him four 5 stars maybe....LOL

His uncle (he's only around 26) was a great b ball player as well.  I swear I'm not lying his uncle was dunking easy in the 6th and 7th grade.

Physical tools are just there for him. All of his family was athletes.  It would really just be teaching him how to play the game.  I imagine he probably could be a beast of a olb/de (demarcus ware type) and that's generally a 3-4 position and the success of McClain is where we may have a disadvantage.  And his friend and Bob Jones b ball star has signed with alabama already for that sport.
