Autiger695 0
Does anyone else feel whatever our helmets are painted with turns a yellowy (not a word) color under the lights? I first noticed this back in 04 but it seemed especially noticeable on Dyer's helmet tonight. Teams like Texas' helmets are the same color day or night, but ours just seem to not fit with our uniform when they look like that. Obviously this doesnt really matter one bit. Cam is awesome. War Damn. That is all.

Plains 0
Could have been the broadcast... I noticed people in the stands had a bit of an orange tinge to them... (faces, not shirts). But, Dyer's helmet did have a yellow tint.
bkaufan 0
Coulda been a reflection of all the orange in the crowd.

I'm sure you will be able to notice the same thing thursday night in Starkville.
MIGMAN 16
Auburn's helmets aren't a pure flat white like texas or PSU. I'm not sure when it first sarted but there is a pearl-esque finish on our helments that has always made them look less white under the lights. It's almost like the small metallic finish on some car paint jobs. I assume they are using that paint again this year but not sure. That's probably the reason for the tint under the lights. AUTigressPen 0
I noticed it for the first time ever, and it wasn't my TV either. It was more noticible at certain angles or spots on the field, so I thought it was the cameras or angle of the lights or something. As someone said earlier, it really doesn't matter, but it did look a little shabby. What really matters is how great the offense looked most of the time. I'm sure the defense will improve. I just hope they can make that improvements before Thursday night. Big WDE for the win, for Cam and others who played so well. :tdau: :tdau: :tdau: :tdau: :tdau:
cptau 147
I believe that is the normal helmet color. you can also see it in the replica helmets they sell in stores. perhaps artificial light brings out the off white more. what is changed by TV day or night is the orange color of the band uniforms and the coaches shirts. they appear near red on TV and on the stadium screen.
