Any word on whether L. Phillips and T. Reed have practiced any this week?

That's great new about Trovon but a bit disappointing about LP.   I would rather see LP redshirt than play at 50% when we have plenty of talent at RB/FB this year.

Plenty?

Dyer, McCalebb, Fannin, Smith, and NEWTON arent enough for you. I agree we have someone we can rely on for 4th and 1. Run the QB draw and let him run someone over. Big Sexy will be needed much more when Cam in gone.

Weird. Just saw Trovon at the pep rally thing with a huge bag of ice taped around his knee and limping around.  Could have just been walking with a limp because of it though.

Sounds like Reed is a go this weekend. Coach Chiz sounds like it will be a while longer for LP.

The coaches sounded encouraged that Reed can play Saturday against Clemson. “We’re kind of trying to bring him along,” Chizik said. “Just day by day seeing how healthy he feels, how he’s running, just how he’s kind of moving around out there. We hope that he can play. We’re not going to play him until we know he’s ready to go out there and help our team win.”

Trooper was more definitive with a statement: "He’s looked good this week, and if continues to progress like he’s been, I wouldn’t see any reason why he couldn’t get out there, not just on offense, but he could help us on special teams – kickoff returns and punt returns."

FB Ladarious Phillips, meanwhile, continues to be on he mend with an ankle injury. The 290-pound freshman hasn’t suited up in either of the first two games. “We’ve just got to continue to evaluate him,’’ Chizik said. “There’s no real change.”

I'm with you on that...  We will need Big Sexy much more next year than this year.  Let that ankle heal.

He said RB and FB. Newton is a QB. At this point Fannin is not an RB (he is a H Back). That leaves 3 and one is a freshman, one is a small scatback, and one is a fullback.

Thanks goodness we were able to sign Dyer or we would be in "dyer" straits.

The players we have are talented. There just aren`t enough of them to go through a whole season I`m afraid.

Were still a young team except, for the O-line and we need to be careful of playing injured freshman.  Its tough enough to succeed healthy.  When Mac had the ankle sprain last year his production fell way off.  Its best to let them rest so they can be 100% when they make their debut.

It looks like Reed will be in the lineup but if he gets more then a handful of touches I'll be surprised.  Dyer on the other hand, I think will be relied upon a lot.

Big Sexy needs to come in slowly, but with his size and speed watch out.  I could see him do a Bo vs Boz on a regular basis.
