The No. 17 Auburn football team continued to prepare for

Saturday’s showdown against No. 12 South Carolina in Jordan-Hare

Stadium, working out for two hours Wednesday in shoulder pads and shorts

at the Athletics Complex practice fields.

The Tigers worked on special teams to start practice, before moving to

individual and position drills. Much of the rest of the practice focused

on the offense and defense working against the scout teams, before the

Tigers ended with a two-minute drill.

Following practice, head coach Gene Chizik stated that he was pleased

with his team’s effort, but that there were still areas where the

Tigers need to get better in order to defeat South Carolina.

“We had another good practice today,” said Chizik. “We’ve had

two pretty sharp days. We have to improve in a lot of areas to be able

to beat this team, but practice went well. Luckily we have another one

tomorrow to continue to prepare, but I thought that for two nights in a

row, practice went well and they were focused. I expect the same

tomorrow.”

Auburn (3-0, 1-0 SEC) is 3-0 for the third straight season, while South

Carolina (3-0, 1-0 SEC) is undefeated after three games for the first

time since 2007. The two teams have met just four times since South

Carolina joined the SEC prior to the 1992 season, with Auburn winning

all four games. However, this will be the first game between the two

teams in which both teams are nationally ranked.

Saturday’s game against South Carolina will kick off at 6:45 p.m. CT.

The game will be televised by ESPN and ESPN 3D.

A limited number of single-game tickets for the game versus the

Gamecocks are available. Tickets for the game are $65 and can be

purchased online at www.aubtix.com or by calling 1-800-AUB-1957.

A limited number of Auburn football six-pack season ticket packages are

also available for just $340. The package includes home games against

South Carolina, ULM, Arkansas, LSU, Chattanooga and Georgia. The

six-pack special is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and can

be purchased online at www.aubtix.com, via phone at 1-800-AUB-1957 or in

person at the Auburn Ticket Office at the new Auburn Arena.
