Baseball at FL Game 3

Daniel cannot finish hitters. Countless times he gets up 0-2 and then leaves one over the plate. Very upset with how he's developed.

Come on  Butch ...time to get him out of there....he is not making his pitches and no need for him to take a beating like this....

Daniel walks another.  Bases loaded.  UF has the meat of the order up.  Looks like we're all about to get a chance to get the rest of the Saturday off.  Coker coming in relief

In the 4th, AU has played poor defense and walked 4 batters.  Oh well, AU grabbed the one they had to have.  Just a shame to watch them throw away a winnable game after they've competed well all weekend long.

Men on base are his downfall........does OK for a while when he starts with a clean inning but soon as he gets a couple guys on base, CBT might as well go out and get him...

Hard hit ball, but Ward hustles over and makes the catch on the run.  Nice of Calvin to limit the damage.  He needs that to develop some late season confidence after the league season he's had so far.  Good to see.  But the damage is done.  UF hangs a 6 spot, leads 6-3 after 4.

Yep......it was discussed in an earlier thread. You can actually see it in his face. He will mature, get tired of looking bad, and have an epiphany if he wants to continue in baseball. He has great pitches and just needs the mental toughness to catch up.

Auburn pitching now with its SEVENTH walk of the day.  It'd be one thing if UF was just hammering everything (which they are when it's in the zone), but you can't give Calhoun Community College 7 free passes and win, much less the number one team

Flyout to left, inning over.  UF tacks on a run, leads 7-3 after 5.  AU with 3-4-5 up in T6, so if they're going to make a run, going to have to start now.

All AU damage in the first inning.....since then this freshman has settled down and AU has done almost nothing with him...

How many are you ordering up this time?

I will never understand the "3-0 strike."  Wright takes a ball on any other count that would be called a ball, but its called a strike.  Leads to him swinging at a ball in the same spot for strike 2, and then lines out to LF.  Completely changes the hitter's approach just by "giving" the pitcher an expanded zone on one count

Faith a bit low at this point, not getting the ordering urge unfortunately.  Maybe it'll change in the last 3 IP!

I feel for Coker.  He was made to come in late and close it out. This long term duty is taxing him.

Once Mitchell was done, there is nobody CBT could really count on ...JMO but a bad call to send in DD with bases loaded......Coker might have been a better selection at that point....By the time Coker got in the game, the damage was done.....meanwhile it seems like our offense was done for the day after that first inning..
