A former neighbor of mine was a pitcher for the Royals years back and I seem to remember his wife mentioning that if a paid athlete plays in any road games where state income tax is levied, then the athlete must also file a tax return in that state. I'm not an accountant so I'm not familiar with current tax laws, but if this is still the case, it could get messy if a filing is missed.
Sounds about right. In my consulting days I had to file a tax return in every state that I worked with a client.

Sold. Closing this down.

Will be on vacation with my family for the season opener so looking to sell my tickets. They're section 1, row 4, and have the seat backs. Looking for face value, $35/each.

I had a very successful weekend at my local store’s allocated loyalty event on Sunday. Looking forward to enjoying these bottles. I opened the Woodford batch proof so far and plan to try the Russel’s Reserve 13 tonight. I’m a Wild Turkey lover so I’m really excited for that one. Still on the hunt for a Master’s Keep Unforgotten to close out the year.
Has anyone tried the Cigar Blend before? This will be a new one for me and I can't even find it at any local bars. I'm always a bit hesitant with the finished barrel bourbons as they are very hit or miss for me. Decided to roll the dice since this one is always talked about and well reviewed.
I'm not a big fan of Blanton's but doesn't hurt to have another of them at msrp. Will likely end up gifting it or trading with a friend for something I like better.
Very curious about the Willet 7 year rye too. It's the Pisces 2022 release. I've had the 4 year family estate and enjoy it a lot, but haven't had a 7 year single barrel.

Hartwell announced this week. Most likely Friday.
CBH fired at end of the season
1a: Grimes
1b: Deion
This info has been posted previously in multiple threads by @RunInRed and I.
Thanks! Why wait to fire CBH though? I'd think with early signing day there's more to gain by pulling the plug early.

Out of curiosity, were you near the away team section? I am sorry to hear your time in Auburn was ruined on top of everything else.
No, we're in Section 1. NW corner end zone on the AU side. It's all good, always a roll of the dice with opposing fans. We've had season tickets for a while now so we've seen the good and bad of visiting fan bases. Ironically enough I had talked to some of these guys before the game and they were excited to be here and said great things about the AU hospitality.

PSU Fans: I think their fans traveled really well to the game. There were a good bit of them in the stands as well. I would also venture out to say they were very well-behaved and we easy to host in our stadium. In my sample-size, no one was obnoxious. They certainly were cheering very loud and by the end of the game, like I said above, took over the stadium.
You had a very different experience with the visiting PSU fans in the stadium than I did. We had multiple PSU fans at our tailgate and they were fine, respectful and happy to be here. No issues with them. But the ones in our section during the game were absolute trash. Loudly talking during national anthem, booing the war eagle, cursing out the eagle handlers while parading the eagle around the stadium, constant stream of vulgarity throughout the game, personal attacks and making fun of those around them, yelling at wives in front of their children. This started from the opening kick off and only got worse throughout the game. I realize I'm talking about a small sample size, but of the 20ish PSU fans around me they were among the worst I've experienced in JHS. My wife's brother is a PSU graduate and she was embarrassed enough by their behavior to let him know about it.

Excited to see him in orange and blue and will be a guy that I'm pulling for since he went to my high school. Certainly nice to add some quality LB depth.

Does this mean that we've given up on Caleb Williams or is he still a possibility?

Shameful, but not surprising.

Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III will be charged with DUI resulting in death after being involved in a fatal car accident Tuesday in Las Vegas around 3:40 a.m., according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Upon arriving at the scene, fire department personnel discovered a deceased victim inside that car that was not being driven by Ruggs. Ruggs was transported to the University Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The deceased victim was inside a Toyota Rav4, while Ruggs was driving a Chevrolet Corvette. Preliminary investigation revealed that the front of the Chevrolet collided with the rear of the Toyota. Ruggs showed signs of impairment, according to Las Vegas police.
Terrible news all around on this one.
I found this elsewhere and it looks like, if convicted, he'll be facing a sentence of between 2 and 20 years and no opportunity to plea it down.

Bring on Bucees and Whataburger! You gotta love Bucees' beef jerky bar. Whataburger honey butter chicken biscuits are the greatest thing ever for a hangover.

Looks like he won't get a spot at AU. Hate that. Kid loves AU and is going to be good.
So we're planning to take Steiner instead?

I know & it was worded in a way that sounded like both at LB. My point of saying what I did is the OLB in Steele's system only plays about 20% of a game. In his 4-2-5 system the 2 LBs are ILBs. I can see OP getting a number of other snaps though as an extra safety on the field though.
You correctly assumed what I meant. Would love to see two guys with that athleticism and nose for the ball on the field at the same time, regardless of what we call the position.

He has a knack for ending up with the ball in his hands which we've been missing for a while. I'd love to see him paired up with OP!

State is becoming a dumpster fire minus our loss to them. I see a 6-6 season or worse for them. Not sure if this has any pull for DH coming our way vs Moo State.
We’re staring a 6-6 or 7-5 season dead in the eyes so we better hope he’s not hung up on final records.

My view last Friday. Last week I hiked 27 miles along the Inca Trail to reach Machu Picchu. Hadn't showered in 4 days when this pic was taken, but still had to wear the AU gear. Surprisingly, I got a "War Eagle!" from 5 different people while in Peru. Pretty cool experience.
After this pic we hiked the tallest steepest mountain in the background which is Huayna Picchu and is consistently ranked as one of the more dangerous hikes in the world.

Proud of this guy. He took over the game and is a big reason why we escaped with the win. I’ve been hoping for big things from him since we went to the same high school. AU doesn’t sign many kids from Northern VA so it’s kinda cool to see him in orange/blue. Here’s to hoping he continues to play like he did last night.
