The inability to get off the field in 3rd and long isn’t just a tonight thing. And don’t let me hear talent. We had enough talent to win tonight. And if we had enough to win tonight, we had enough to beat NMSU also.

No. I don’t see how either coordinator can survive the last 2 games.

I doubt Hugh is spending time on that right now. Get me some dudes and then focus on attire.
Or maybe they work hand-in-hand. Dress for the part you want.

The loss yesterday was terrible. I’m not jumping ship and when we look back it may just be a blip in the road. But dang. It’s scary. I hope we end up laughing about this in a couple of years. I’m 7/10 worried. Then again, it’s not like we need to fire the guy. Nothing to do but sit around and wait and see how things go.

Did anyone else notice how unprofessional our players and coaches looked in tiger walk? Just me being old?

Yeah football in the grand scheme of things is no big deal. But in the scheme of college football…this was as bad as it gets.
dang even Gus made it past Mercer and JSU…barely. Chiz beat Utah State.

Yeah, after your optimism about CHF, I just don't know who the answer could be if he's not it.
Ditto. I just don’t know what to say about today. Low point for sure for our program

May I suggest that if the players aren’t talented or developed enough and certainly not motivated at this point in the season, that it lies squarely in the coaching realm?

Brother PTB, if you will kindly look at my OP. I said "we had control of the game and looked sharp in most phases". This is not negative, and so I did not single out the bad.
You are indeed correct. I re-read my comments and I came off super-angsty. I think I may need a nap…or a good burger…maybe both. In any event, I apologize. I meant no ill will.

I watched 1 game. I commented on that 1 game. Also said I did not think this trend would continue. Not a negative Nancy here.
Yet you chose the negative one thing from the one game you watched to make the negative original post. Surely you can understand why the rest of us are miffed. But at least you got us engaged in the discussion. So for that you’re a genius.

I’ve decided that some of our fans just either
a) can’t be happy about anything
b) haven’t lived long enough to remember how had our bball program was
c) have so little control over things in their own life that they pick apart the things truly out of their control
War Eagle. And yes, if you can’t say something nice about our bball team after a strong showing in their first game against a quality opponent, then I’d prefer you just move on.

But the broadcast Saturday said Auburn was in the bottom 3 for drops…meaning we hadn’t had many at all. Did anyone else catch this?

So that view does not stem from a healthy outlook, more like it stems from arrogance, pride, LBS - like we're too good for the birmingham bowl, which is laughable considering the position our University, BOT, Booster, and AD leadership have put us in. Who cares what a bunch of bammers think. We need to show progress and we need all the practice time we can get. I'd rather promote an attitude of "any place, any time" and approach it from the perspective that we WANT to be there and WANT to beat the *$&#$ out of whoever we draw.
We just have a fundamental disagreement.
war Eagle anyway.

Why? We’re too good for that? Hoping the reasoning originates out of a good and healthy place but I don’t see it.
The sec basically tells us where to go, but the bowls have some say when two teams have similar resumes. They like teams that travel and spend money in town. Bham just doesn’t do anything for anyone. Our fanbase doesn’t like to travel there and if they do they make a day trip. Not to mention, the Bham elitists that run the Bham bowl are just a bunch of bammers. Good and healthy place? This is the real world. It’s politics.
-
A few of us lobbied a few years ago to avoid the Bham bowl and were overruled by the BoT. We will go back over my dead body. I’d rather see us decline a bowl than go to Bham.

Yeah one of those games where it wasn’t particularly close but somehow it kinda was. I never felt like we weren’t going to win. Season comes down to next week at Arky imo.

I think it was Jacob Goins that asked the question, and he’s as good as gold. It did seem super conservative. So maybe instead of being defensive, CHF could have just answered the question the same way without the biting sarcasm.

I think the emotions are pretty raw. Devastating loss. This is their Kick-6. Imo totally ok to ask the questions of CHF. He better knock our socks off in recruiting or we can find someone else to go 6-6.
