It's nice that Maddie has set all sorts of AU records, but we'd be a lot better off as a team if Dean had used some of those early season games against lesser competition to develop a third pitcher. Now we don't even have enough pitching to get through a four-team tournament.

Could be….wonder where they would go to “better” themselves….
Very few places. I think we are seeing a lot of "the grass always looks greener across the fence" in this transfer mess. I read that over 2,000 basketball players entered the transfer portal this current cycle. That's just crazy.

Not necessary. Everyone will be jumping ship reallu soon. Pitchers and position players. Expect a minimum of 16 to enter the transfer portal. (I have insight into this - my great nephew plays on the team.)
I really hope this is incorrect, or some of them change their minds. If a number of the right guys come back we'll have the pieces in place for a solid team next season.

I saw other forwards who I have never heard of ranked and going to Iona and William and Mary yet Hudson is so obscure and obsolete that he’s not even ranked. And that’s why this is such a downer.
Maybe Coach Pearl has found a "Diamond in the rough"!

The older generation will always claim to have the more difficult “walk to school” experience than the current generation.
That's been the goal of Americans since the Pilgrim days, for our next generation to have it better than we did. To a large extent we have succeeded. Recently, at some point in the process we've hit "critical mass" and the next generation having it better may no longer be a good thing. But we're straying off into the political/sociological area aren't we?

For those who were lucky enough to see the game, what caused Butch to get tossed? He's normally fully under control.

My AU roomate's daughter played D1 basketball in Oklahoma. She graduated in 2019 and at that time her monthly stipend was @ $900/month on top of a scholarship, an apartment, utilities, books, meals, etc.
If memory serves, Auburn has one of the highest "stipend" rates in the country. I could have gotten through college very nicely with a deal similar to the above. What I had was the G.I. bill and a part time job. I'm not too much in sympathy with the athletes on full scholarship, they should be doing quite well. Those athletes in baseball, softball and other sports that get only partial scholarships are the ones who need additional help.

I do. In innings 7, 8 and 9
4 hit batters
2 wild pitches
2 walks
1 untimely error
Yep, that'll do it.

I just don’t know how you go from 3 outs to mercy rule Bama to a nail biter in 9. Wow.
It seems like no game in any sport comes easy for us vs. the turds.

What the HOLY HE**? Well, anyway AU won. Lets get the sweep tomorrow. This team needs the sweep, they deserve it and for the sake of all that's holy lets get it!

I'm not sure we want to save Lowe for anything. Her last two outings have been disastrous. Normally, with Penta in the circle and a 4-run lead, we're 98% to win.
I agree to an extent, but Penta hasn't been her "normal" self the last several weeks. I'm not sure what is going on with her or the management of this team.

I think this game was lost in the bottom of the 5th when we failed to score with a world of opportunity. I don't know who is responsible for giving our hitters signals but the decisions are ridiculous. The only bright spot is that Dean or whoever else is sending signals to our hitters will be gone next season.

Seriously, are you in the "top 1%" of income earners Mikey?
Ah, CBPP, that bastion of impartial thought. I don't believe their statistics. I have seen reports from other sites that claim the opposite.

I've seen more of these "brother or cousin" things blow up than not. Still, if we have the scholly I guess it's worth a shot.

Carlos Rogers, Ronnie Brown and Caddy Williams had similar tales to tell. There has to be a middle ground somewhere.

Yep, remember him well. Brother, son, wife, something like that. That poster was nutz!

You can’t have both. Debt reduction would help with inflation your so worried about.
It would, except neither party is going to do it. So keep the tax cuts.

Extend tax cut. No matter who says what, they are NOT going to reduce the debt so let me keep MY money.
If there were truly going to be debt reduction that would be a different story but they aren't going to do it so......

Ok I know I'm not in the know but whats the reference to the lawyers....
Lawsuits concerning NIL, transfers, a player's union and so forth. They are the reason we're where we are today and it's not slowing down, it's speeding up.

I don't know anything about golf. What is a birdie? a Bogey? an eagle, etc.

Whatever. The lawyers are involved now. Nothing will be the same anyway.
It's already not the same and the sh** has only started to hit the fan.

There has never been a more stubborn person who walked the earth than Coach Pat Dye. Maybe it just goes with the territory.

Dean offered no hint of whether he will start ace Maddie Penta against Central Florida or go with Shelby Lowe to keep Penta fresh for a potential meeting with Florida State on Saturday.
"I don't know yet," Dean said. "I won't know until I watch the video."
I'm not sure who Dean's top pitcher is. Penta hasn't been her "old self" lately. Still, saving pitching in a four team double elimination setup is folly. Use your best first. That way #1 can go in games 1 and 3.

Wife and I noticed this also. Didn't see the team at any time. When they showed the 4-way screen for all the teams in Tallahassee, they simply showed an icon for Auburn. Didn't know this happened last year as well. I do suspect it's something that's happening on Auburn's end of things; either a techno-glitch or Auburn's choosing not to participate in this particular ritual.
I suppose it could be that Auburn's graduation was the previous Saturday and the team was scattered about the country. I can think of no other reason.

In my younger years I did plenty of after midnight rambling. As I know from experience, there's likely to be trouble at 3:30 AM. I you're going to be up and about then, develop some "leaving sense". You gotta' know when to bail out and head to a different spot.
