For 2023 impact you're probably right, but he's a RSFR and we're going to need him in 24-26.
He's had awful luck with injuries and barely even practiced at OSU. Could be an issue going forward.
Unfortunately, he sounds a lot like Malcolm Johnson Jr😪

Yeah, he seems okay. Does he get paid to pump Built bars, too?
No doubt Built bars pays the bills. Locked On Auburn is just a hobby.😂

So far we have guys that have already officially or unofficially entered the portal at one time or another. With the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to see King, Finley and a few more in the coming days.
-
Maybe a guy like Kite or Johnson supplanted him. *Sidenote* hope Zeek Walker sticks around for depth AND keeping inroads with his 2025 5* brother.

So is Stutts injured or is he falling down our nonexistent depth chart?

@toddc I hope you're OK with 1 because that may be all we get in this class.
I'd be OK with 1. We haven't done very well with 5* rated players when we get them.

Auburn offense down 2 contributors for rest of spring practice
38 minutes agoAUBURN, Alabama — Auburn's football team will be down a couple veterans on offense for the rest of the spring.
Junior center Tate Johnson and senior receiver Malcolm Johnson Jr. will miss the rest of spring practice Auburn coach Hugh Freeze told local reporters Monday afternoon, with elbow and collarbone injuries, respectively.
Johnson had season-ending elbow surgery last season after starting the first four games of the season at center, while Johnson Jr. has been dealing with a nagging injuries the past couple years and missed seven games in 2022. Freeze said he expects the receiver back in June.
A former 4-star prospect in the 2020 class, Johnson Jr. has just eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown in three seasons.
Johnson had been taking first-team reps at left guard early in spring ball.
Why did I know who the players were before I even read the article?!😶

I’m in I’ll believe it when I see it mode with TJ. He’s had 1 good game against South Carolina when he was at LSU. I’d compare him to Jason Campbell having a break out season as a senior but he’d shown plenty of flashes before that.
Awesome to hear about Cam Brown and Battie. I’m getting Ontario McCaleb vibes from Battie.
Hopefully Battie has better body control than O M. Can't count how many times Ontario had a clear path to the endzone but outran his own feet!

If I can find the podcast, I was looking at today, I will copy and post it. Two guys were saying, they were at practice Monday and Auburn’s three quarterbacks were so bad, none of the three had a 70% completion percentage against air.
If you happen to know what podcast it was, will you please post? They went on to say if the spring game really meant anything, Jeremy Johnson would be a Heisman Trophy winner and Cam would not even be a starter. So who knows really?
They also mentioned McCall could graduate this summer. Obviously, the keyword there: “Could”
You're probably referring to the Locked On Auburn podcast with Zac Blackerby. Listening to him and his guest hosts have me ready to jump off a cliff already!

I'm a little more optimistic than most when it comes to our QB room. I think the Freeze/Montgomery/Austin combo will do wonders for those guys.

Rodney Garner. More so for his coaching than actual play

Grandkids are the ticket. Send them home when they are getting on your nerves or you’re worn out. Thankfully it’s usually the latter for me.
Absolutely nothing like loving on a kid(s) and giving them back when enough is enough😅

I agree. I think CHF is a much better coach than Gus. I just want us to be conscious that we still need to produce on the field in a very tough SEC west. The coaches not only will have to recruit their asses off ( they proved it) , they are going to have to also be ready to win some games that they may not be favored in, which is seemingly a good many. I believe we can do it but I am going to enjoy the recruiting success we have and be cautiously optimistic otherwise.
I will say I still question if Freeze can take a program over the top.
I know damn sure he can rebuild programs .
In Freeze's defense, he hasn't coached at a university with the resources, pedigree and fanfare as AU. When it's all said and done, this will be one of the best redemption stories(for both Freeze and Auburn) in CFB history!
