Saban wouldn’t have been successful at Auburn. He would’ve butted heads with the fans and boosters, and would’ve darted to another school.  Auburn fans would never have put up with his sideline antics.

Well I'll just speak for myself then. 6 Nattys in that span, I can overlook sideline antics and whatnot.

Caddy beat a team with the #1 recruiting class and an experienced $100M championship HC as well as a decent WKU and probably should’ve beaten Miss State. Certainly played them down to the wire on the road.

He may not have any history but whatever he’s doing actually hasn’t been a disaster especially compared to “seasoned” veterans.

     Caddy > Freeze

Caddy is no doubt one my fave players of all time. His love for Auburn is unmatched BUT he is not in the same stratosphere with Freeze when it comes to coaching! I think you're letting emotional ties cloud your sanity.

I guess a moral objection these days is a foreign concept to some.

"Win at all costs! It's the only thing that matters!"

I have a cost. So be it. You all may continue your down voting now.

I can remember when Nicky Satan was coaching my Dolphins. He literally walked over a player that was having a seizure, having 0 regard for his well being. I guarantee 99% of us would have forgiven that if he had become our HC. That being the case, I can forgive a man that likes to get his fancy tickled every once in a while....

His second half season results have really dampened all things Kiffin imo. At another time he would have been a homerun imo. Now ?????

Now????? Not so much. I see a lot of people using the distraction excuse. He's still the OM HC so any outside noise shouldn't hinder his ability to get his team ready to play. I was already sour on the Kiffin, these last few weeks has only expounded my view of him!

Absolutely nothing. HF has just as much proof of concept as Kiffin. Matter of fact, I feel safer with Hugh because his gameday coaching isn't crazy like Kiffins with all the analytics.

I'm with you 1000% on that! I just don't see the "Homerun hire" effect with Kiffin.

  6. I just want to know what makes LK so much better than HF?! From my view point it's a wash. We've ALL done or said some irreparable things in our past. HF has a weakness for beautiful women. What able membered man doesn't?! We're trying to replace Brian Harsin,  not Chette Williams!

Remember when players were leaving last February and guys like Smoke said they felt Harsin didn’t care for them as people? Didn’t get to know them? Remember how some people mocked the idea that that was a problem? That Harsin “was there to coach and not to be a friend”?

You’re now seeing the results of the polar opposite approach to coaching young men. Cadillac has reiterated the emphasis of his role as a mentor in his players’ lives. He talks about how it’s bigger than football and that seems to be his priority. He revealed last night in the presser that he has encouraged his players to be vulnerable and open up to the coaches and their teammates. He even cited his coaches going back to peewee on how they shaped his life, and how he wants to do the same.

Pretty clear case study of how crucial the human element is at this level. Maybe in the NFL it doesn’t matter. But these players are still kids. Great on Cadillac for loving on them.

Listening to Caddy talk in some instances, he's confirming those rumors without actually saying outright.
