  1. I'm no expert, but I have a little bit of recent Baylor experience. My son played for Rhule and Aranda.  I've said it before, I like Rhule as a candidate at AU.  Baylor was a hotter, stinkier dumpster fire than AU when he took over. He could absolutely turn the program around... but it might take three years before we see double digit wins, SEC championships and playoffs.  Could we be that patient? Probably not.

Aranda is a weird, introverted, and extremely intelligent dude. I think he is a great head coach, but he's a different kind of guy.  He has built on Rhule's success and made Baylor into a legit top 25 program. I pause here for emphasis.... there is no way he is leaving Baylor for Auburn.  If he had any plans of leaving Baylor, he would have taken the USC job when offered.

Apparently the game warden stocked some trout in a pond I fish regularly last week. What's their primary bait? I've never attempted to catch trout.

Minnows, salmon eggs, meal worms, and various Berkeley and Gulp products replicating them.

Our trout are stocked by the state as well. I fish for them in a creek, but I'm sure they bite the same stuff in a pond.  I've had the best luck with a floating powerbait about 18inches off the bottom. Use small hooks and light line (or snell). No need to set the hook. When they grab it, start reeling.

  3. I spent a week in Indian Pass this Summer (right down the beach from Salty).  The kids and I had a blast catching whiting when the catfish didn't get the bait first.

It's trout season in Oklahoma, so they are my main target right now. Trout never crossed my mind when I lived in the south, but they have become one of my favorite fish.  You can't beat a tasty fish that literally takes seconds to clean.

My first thought was the same, "Why waste that?".  I quickly thought about it another way, in the context of last year and the first game, and it seemed like it was a confidence/chemistry builder.  Developing team chemistry, which appeared to emerge in this game, seems like it would be more important than any advantage gained by keeping a fake field goal under wraps.  As you mention, the psyche.

I think it also gives opposing defenses something else to think about.  It could slow down the rush and make us less likely to suffer a blocked FG.

Hopefully there will be a few under the radar players who are getting plenty of positive press once we're a few games in.  This team has potential written all over it.... especially the D.

I thought Russell and Lawrence outplayed Adams last year.  Seeing Brown move even with Lawrence gives me a good feeling.  This D-Line is going to be a big deal.

I couldn't find this one on youtube. Very nice performance.

Sturgill is easily my favorite living artist. His first two albums (High Top Mountain and Metamodern Sounds) were the best country music I've heard in a very long time. I don't consider "Sailor's Guide to Earth" a country record, but it is musically brilliant.
