  1. We are 11-12. 5 games behind Philly. We are heading to San Diego to face a team that is struggling to score a single run. Much less string a few together. Personally, I think our starting staff is the best in baseball right now. The bullpen has been a tad shaky at times, but not horrible. That bodes well for us in SD. If we continue to hit the baseball like we have the past few days I don't think sweeping the Pads is a stretch. 2/3 is certainly a great possibility. Good to see McClouth find his stick lately as well as J-Hey. Maybe the bomb by Uggla will get him going now too. Go Braves!!
  2. How long was Gonzalez gonna let him stay in the freaking game! Oh I see! Until he gave up 4 runs and the lead.
  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has noticed Gonzalez's piss poor decision making this year.
  4. It kinda pisses me off that Gonzalez is taking Huddy out with a 3 run lead and 2 outs in the 9th. Who cares if Posey is coming up? If he hits one to Oakland it doesn't matter we still have the lead.
  5. I can't hardly listen to the play-by-play guy. He's annoying. His voice is annoying. And Karros is awful as usual.
  6. How about that Auburn boy David Ross!!!!!!!
  7. I know it's April. I know we had a horrible April last year and we turned it around in May and ended up in the playoffs. I just don't have the same feeling about this year. I hope we can turn it around, but I'm not as optimistic as I was at the beginning of the month.
  8. Sad day when you get excited because you don't get a no hitter thrown against you.
  9. I got a little misty eyed when he hit the double to center and they showed Bobby Cox cheering and going crazy with the biggest smile on his face. I have a lot of respect for that guy.
  10. rednilla: Quote from: AuburnTigers1 on Today at 01:43:28 AM Can we PLEASE get Nate McClouth out of the 2 hole. I can't take watching him kill a rally anymore and we are only 5 games into the year. Two games ago he scored 3 runs and had a double... He's batting .235, and he's impatient at the plate. Not an ideal 2 hitter. I would like to see... 1. Prado 2. Uggla 3. Chipper 4. BMac 5. J-Hey 6. Alex Gonzalez 7. Freddie 8. McClouth 9. Pitcher That is just a solid lineup. Can you imagine a .300 hitter leading off and the a 20-30 HR guy in the 2 hole with Chipper, McCann, and Heyward to follow. Also, if McClouth ever comes out of this horrible funk he's in you would have more RBI chances for Prado and Uggla at the top.

  12. Braves Win Braves Win Braves Win!!!!! Who said Spring Training can't be exciting?
  13. Yep I knew he played at AU. When Simpson hit the HR last year against Clemson in the regional, AB made reference to him. "David Ross, YOU HAVE COMPANY!!!"
  14. Great article!! I will always love Bobby Cox. I didn't always agree with everything he did. I got mad at him sometimes and asked him through the tv what the heck he was doing. The difference was I still trusted him and I knew he was doing what he thought was best for the Atlanta Braves and that's all I can ask for.
  15. I'm not sure I would mind Hinske playing a good bit in the OF this year. I'm still not sold on Schaffer cutting it. I'm not sure how J-Hey would do in CF, but I like the thought of him in center and Hinske in right. I'm sure EH doesn't have the arm for right though.
  16. McLouth didn't hit .200 last year. Hey, we've always got Jordan Schaffer.....
  17. Normally I would be pumped about it as well. Gonzalez as the manager doesn't give me the warm fuzzy feeling inside. I'm still fuming about losing Diaz too. Which makes me wonder who plays the OF this year besides J-Hey. Getting Uggla made me happy just so he couldn't hit a bomb every time he came up to bat, his D isn't the greatest though. I don't know. It just doesn't feel the same this year. Probably because Cox is gone more than anything. I just hope we compete.
  18. Please don't take this the wrong way, but can any one of you nay sayers tell me why this is bad? Because he's one of the guys that got us here? He's terrible at the plate. He has maybe 30 rbi's. He has ZERO that's right 0 HR's. The biggest problem is LACK OF EFFORT!!!!!!! And the good ole Escobar I don't give a rat's *** attitude all the time. He didn't fit in on this team and nobody liked him on the team which is bad. One bad apple... Blah blah. We have a guy now who is a hard working every day player that has some pop in his bat. He can hit virtually anywhere in the order. Can you imagine 1. Prado 2. Gonzalez 3. Chipper 4. McCann/Glaus 5. Glaus/McCann 6. Heyward then throw in Diaz, Blanco, Infante, McClouth, etc. That looks strong to me. Just an opinion from me, but I was tired of Esco and I think the Braves were too.
