Silver lining is Battie was one of the few bright spots of the Texas A&M game.  Cobb will get more chances to shine.  Maybe Sean Jackson even gets some touches.  Thankfully this is a position where Auburn has some quality depth.

Unfortunately, the OL is not loaded with a lot of quality.

I’m with you on this. It’s getting really old watching this Groundhog Day scenario

Wake up, throw on my Auburn gear, grocery store start grilling, put on game day, get excited, turn the game on, watch Auburn sh** the bed offensively.

It’s the same crap, every week, every year. Doesn’t matter who the coach is, or the quarterback. It’s always the same old Mickey Mouse offense where all we do is run run run.

Lately it's been the same old, same old. We can't run or pass.

  3. Gus did recruit some pretty fast wide receivers but their problem was they couldn't catch it. Other that that Gus didn't recruit much of any talent, certainly not on the offensive line. Harsin was more thorough. He didn't recruit not sign much of any talent. Sure didn't sign any along the OL. Like they say, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken S--t.  :bricks:

THE COMMON DENOMINATOR………. NO OFFENSIVE LINE!!!! This isn’t rocket science. Our O-Line has been shat since 2014. That is the sad truth of Auburn football. Haven’t even been serviceable since then, this year included. OC’s can’t trust them, which tells the QB they can’t be trusted to give them time. We’ve had halfway decent qb’s but they’ve been scared they’d get their clocks cleaned. It really is as simple as that. Looking back, Gus’s offense may have been the worst thing to happen to Auburn football in a looooong time. One great season( with 2 miracle finishes to make it great) for 10 years of setting the program back. And he got a 20 million dollar golden parachute to top it off. Makes me sick to my stomach

Like I have said a million times, until we get a.solid OL our QB play will be average at best.

It's like drinking and women.  After a few beers and shots, Nancy Pelosi starts looking like Mila Kunis.

Same with our QBs.  Ashford is bad, but after a few series of Thorne, Freeze can't help but give Ashford another look.

I don't care how much you drink, snort, sniff or rub into your belly, Pelosi never has, never does or never will look like Mila Kunis

It’s at Auburn and will be Becks first game on the road. If only Auburn could find some offense

I thought it was in Athens. But seeing as how we have no QB and not much of an OL, unfortunately, I don't think it matters much where the game is played. I'm just being honest.

I’m definitely not a proponent of Thorne being the guy. We’re just guessing at why he’s been so bad. I’d run it with Ashford or I’d start Thorne one more week just because I wouldn’t want Holden’s first start to be that UGA defense.

Maybe they tell Thorne next week he gets a half and to just go have fun. He’s currently playing not to mess up. Give him the half and let him know it’s make or break - and playing tight is certainly going to break him.

well, for those of you who thought yesterday was bad, wait until Saturday in Athens:nopityA:

    1.  We need to find our identity on O, and the 2 QB system prevents us from getting in a rhythm.   Thorne looks "afraid to make a mistake" so he held the ball too long too many times.

    2. I don't appreciate JHS near enough.   Cal's stadium sits at the top of a pretty tall hill.   Once you are there, the views outside the stadium are really incredible.   Once inside the stadium it is an egged shaped bowl without any character.  Their PA system was awful.   We literally could not hear a single thing said over the PA.   The reviews and fumbles....  well we knew what happened based only on the "roar" of the 35,000 Cal fans there.   They had porta potty's as bathrooms -- inside the stadium.    The concession stands were food trucks.   While we have a Jumbotron- they have 2 microtrons that are worthless.

    3. I don't appreciate the beauty of our campus enough-   The best thing about Cal's campus were the trees (which were awesome) and a12 story clock tower.    After that, the campus is not nice AT ALL.   Many of the buildings are poured concrete with no color on the concrete.   They are large grey concrete buildings like you would expect to see in a war zone.  There is no consistency in the architecture.   It would have driven our architecture and building science grads mad.    They have very little grass -- the kind you mow with a lawn mower.   The roads and sidewalks were cracked and uncomfortable.   Because of the skateboarders, every bench, flower bed, what ever had items attached to it that prevented the boarders from boarding on them.

    4. I don't appreciate southern culture enough -- one fraternity house had a large sign outfront that read "Cousins FUC___s vs. Golden Bears.   No one made an effort to take it down.   The entire student section chanted immediately before the game "F--ck you Auburn."   The chant seemed very commonplace.

    5. I don't appreciate our tailgate culture enough -- we saw 1 tailgate and it didn't have chicken wings, ribs or hamburgers.

    6. I don't appreciate our home crowd advantage enough -- There were at least 5,000 empty seats around the 50.   I'd say the stadium was 66% full and if not for us it would have been only 40% full.

    7. CBP is a great Auburn ambassador.   He was at the TUF tailgate 3 hours before kick.   When he came into the stadium, he received a huge ovation.

    8. Cal hates Stanford almost as much as we hate Bama.  I think the stadium crew did it intentionally -- they posted the USC Stanford score on the microton and immediately thereafter posted the UT Bama score.   Our crowd reacted to the second one....

    9.  Auburn travels -- Holy sweet Jesus.    WE WERE EVERYWHERE.   When coach Freeze came by us at Tiger Walk all he could say was "thank-you, thank-you, thank-you".   He and the players were clearly moved by how many folks traveled 2,000 miles for our Tigers.

    10.   Luke Deal loves his momma -- me and my crew crossed over the Tiger Walk road from one side to the other about 5 minutes before it started.   As soon as I got to the other side, a sweet lady politely asked me if I could take a half of a step back because "her son was coming."   I assumed, not sure why, that she meant her 5-10 year old son.   What she actually meant was her son Luke Deal was coming.   I wish all of you could have seen them embrace and the words they exchanged.   I'm literally tearing rn.

    11.  I Believe in Auburn.

    12. And love it.

what do you expect from a bunch of hippie type pinkos who haven't won much of anything in football since Aaron Rogers was QB.

A very ugly win, but a win none the less.

Hopefully we learn from this one. Saw some really good halftime adjustments tho. I thought we would lose this one, so I’ll take the win.

Obviously, you see what I’m saying about not being world-beaters this year. But y’all…the team we had on paper before Freeze would have been run out of that stadium.

I remember back to 2010 when we won it all, and we had a very ugly win at home against Miss State and a very ugly win at Kentucky. Sometimes I think we get pretty short sided.

Also, if we win 37-33 people would probably give us grief about our defense. I dunno. I just think there’s way too much positive with our program right now to do what we usually do and go off the rails.

Final thought. Please please please Auburn people, don’t lose your grip on reality. We traveled out to California with a brand new football team and beat a team with a pulse. We are moving in a positive direction in all areas. Let’s celebrate this program and a win! For the love, just keep heading forward! WDE!

That's what I'm talking about. for the last two years not only did we have to put up with a coaching staff which didn't have to the team ready to play but unlike Saturday night we would have to tolerate them getting their a$$ handed to them. I was not happy with the way they played but at least they came home with a win.
