We have one RB whose speed may be questioned, that's Miller. The other returnees, K. Mart, Barrett and Whitlow are all "fast". The two signees are fast.

I agree with u , the 2 leaving backs were the slowest with the exception of Miller but getting a potential back with this size a speed is an overall positive. Just think if he became our Derrick Henry?.       If you saw OU or some of the others top teams our O speed needed to get better across the board and we are seeing a commitment to that.

I don't see it that way. It's an indication that we missed on players at other positions and Joiner is the next best available. Was signing two 4* RB's in this class an indication of past failures? We're trying to get four or even five WR in this class. Is that an indication of past failures at WR? Not at all.

I think our speed was severely lacking and we needed to become more explosive.   That is what I am seeing.

I’m ashamed to admit it but I’ve rarely been less excited about a highly rated guy. Just seems like we’ve spent most of the recruiting cycle talking about why we don’t really want him and now looking like we’ll sign him, lol. If he ends up at AU I hope he ends up an All-American and proves how stupid I am.

We thought we had no chance so the fans soured on him.

He is very good (very athletic) so is someone you take a chance on.   We need speed and athleticism and he has it.

The spy comment is exactly what I was screaming about on the 1st half.  Made no sense as he was the only O they had at that point.

Early in the season I was really hoping for a Kam P and Kam M (Thunder and lightning) backfield with Kerryon as a receiving threat/back-up.  I was wrong about Kerryon but still disappointed with lack of series from Martin.  Maybe that is because of our lack of confidence in the O-line.

  5. Stat, thank you very much.

Concerning D, the tackles for loss was interesting, but overall we were not as dominant as one would have thought based on the high praise.

Offense - lack of speed was the big issue to me this yr.  Watching Oklahoma was eye opening in how much faster they looked than us.

Honestly good for him.  I think these guys are getting pushed so had rto hurry up to get to the League they cannot enjoy themselves.    Being an adult sucks ? so enjoy your youth as long as u can.

Nobody is losing their minds. Nobody is blowing their brains out.Fact of the matter is our coaches got worked while losing over a handful of recruiting battles to Georgia, and in reality, our class isn’t even in the same zip code as Georgia’s. What is most dissapointing is we are not winning the battles for the players within the trenches. This is a line of scrimmage league. I don’t care how good of a QB we have or how good our defensive coach is, if our lines are getting blown up or getting reset in the backfield, there is no way to coach around those issues. Hopefully we still get Gouraige or Brown, and that would ease the pain a bit. The plan B’s like Goss and Tannor is going to do nothing for me though. Stutts either and be wasn’t even a plan B.

When the rivals are in another stratosphere when it comes to recruiting and are already whipping us 7/10 games within the past decade, it’s concerning because I know Gus is always going to be judged by his record against the rivals and a lousy record against them only hinders his recruiting pitches. If he knew what was good for him, he’d add better recruiters to his staff.

Earlier in the fall we were firing our coach and there was a lot of negativity and uncertainty surrounding our program.  It is hard to get traction with the top guys with all that.

We ended strong and the positive momentum showed in recruiting.  If we can continue into next year we will start recruiting like we can on a consistent basis.

The game was identical to the first matchup except the roles reversed as Georgia took it to Auburn, avenging their only loss of the season. After Auburn scored on their opening possession, Georgia dominated the game, outscoring Auburn 28-0 the remainder of the game. Auburn looked like a team fatigued, and their downfall was magnified with injuries. Injuries aside, Georgia dominated the contest on both sides of the line of scrimmage and was the more physical team as the game wore on. Every time Auburn appeared to be putting it together on offense, the Bulldogs rose up and made critical plays to prevent Auburn from retaking

Auburn's statistical report card of 3 of 36 was the worst team performance from 2009-2017. It marked the sixth time Auburn had a failing grade in all three phases of the game during 118 games. The Georgia Bulldogs are responsible for four of the six games. The game felt like Auburn was relying on the same performance from the first meeting and were not prepared for all the Bulldog adjustments made for the rematch. Not having a healthy Kerryon Johnson hurt an offense reliant upon the junior running back accounting for 40 percent of the offensive yardage during the last five games. What made it worse was Auburn hoping Johnson would dig deep to deliver a winning performance, rather than having the offense prepared to play without him.

    War Eagle!

Stat, thanks for report this year.  I believe early yesterday we saw a team that had confidence as well as some good luck.  As the game went on and momentum turned, the emotional drain and physical wear and tear from last week just overtook us.

Gus needs to really take the next step in getting the quality depth and mental preparation needed.  This year was a great experience and hope we can continue this momentum into next year.

    War Eagle!

  9. Stat, our 1st TD Drive was a 94 yd scoring Drive.  Nobody in their right might would have expected that.

Then, at the 6 min mark, before Kerryon went out,  we were running the ball to get AL to use their TO’s.   But make no mistake we were about to run it down there throat.   Been a long time since I have seen us be so physical.

  10. I do like that we are putting the ball in the air in the 1st half as it is making us more balanced and keeping the opponent D honest.     We have to do it this week to stop any pass rush and give us timetable hit the open receivers.

  11. Stat, is would be interesting to see if the difference in the D is related to Tre Williams injury or competition?  We need our LB’s to raise their game this week.  GA’s run game will test our D-line/LB’s and it opens up easy throws for their QB.

"If Auburn scores five times, we are looking at 15-35 points. If LSU scores three times, we are looking at 9 to 21 points. This is why this game could be a tight game or a possible dominating performance by the Auburn Tigers."

Going on the road against a pretty talented team.  This is a big one for Gus to determine if he can keep momentum.

  13. Thanks Stat.   A couple points and a q

    1) We have history that tells us JS can be effective under a different scheme so that tells me we should not be this inept.   I did decide that JS just needs to sling and see if our future NFL receivers could make a play on the ball.

    2) make no mistake, we have 2 future NFL receivers, a NFL RB, and NFL caliber arm at the QB position so this is embarrassing.

3).  What is Gus's offense identity?   Isn't play action different than zone read?

  14. Thanks Stat.  I agree with you 1000% on Kam Martin.  He has a gear and elusiveness that KJ doesn't.   I feel a couple of those 2 yards up the middle would have been different if he played earlier.  I get KJ tho, as you have to block to protect the QB plus I am concerned with Kam's size.

That's not how the successful coaches go about this. Get as many of the absolutely best you can get on campus, then let them sort themselves out. Believe it or not, coaches don't put players in the game, the players do that themselves.

Similar to Pat Nix and DCraig.   Let's get these guys and see how it will play out
