  1. His stats last season are all you need to look at.  He had plenty of minutes and took lots of shots.  He was not hampered by BP in the slightest.

The reason(s) for his in-ability to succeed are all on him.  Pointing the finger at the coaches over this is really petty...

According to Hoke, Aden was third in shot attempts, second is usage and first in 3-point attempts (by 50!).  Additionally, he was 11th in FG%.  The stats speak for themselves.  This was all on him.

I’m VERY interested to see what if any progress Chaney Johnson makes next year. He flashed real potential to be a true producer as the season went on. He’s very gifted athletically, but he stayed composed and showed great effort and promise as the season matured.

Chaney really turned it on this year, and I was glad to see it.  He played tough underneath, drove hard and made good shots.

We are a basketball school!  Can't be a football school when you can't field a team that loses 3 games or less in a season.  We were a football school, but Gus took that from us.  May be one sometime in the future but not now.

I love this team.  I definitely don't think this is a rebuild at all.

We have veteran returners in Broome, Williams, KD, Cardwell and even Moore.  The new comers are mostly experienced players (Chaney, Denver and Chad).

We should have a matchup advantage on the inside with Broome and an experienced 4 in Williams should offset their talented youth at the 4.  The 4 matchup should be interesting and fun to watch.   Hoping Williams maturity and added size pays dividends.  Love to see him be aggressive and play with a chip on his shoulder.   His defense will be important tonight.  He understands the expectation.

They may have a slight advantage at guard, but KD plays physical and Tre is a physical PG.  I expect Tre to be much improved after dedicating an offseason to basketball only.  I expect these two to play well on defense.  Aden is talented but unknown.  I expect him to be very very good, but I don't know when.  Tonight?  Maybe.  I expect his role to steadily increase if not tonight.  He will be key in March.

Of course the unknowns will be exciting to see in action.  How does Denver and Chaney play at a higher level.  I would think better than most true freshman would.  Excited to have some length at the 2.  And he can shoot it - make no mistake about that. Chaney is explosive and should be a treat to watch in transition.    Can he play with his back to the goal.  Does he have a drop step move?  Can he consistently stretch the defense from the 4.

The key could very well be the 3.  Can Chad Baker bring it at the 3.  If he can stretch the court and knock down some 3's this team will make a lot of noise.  I expect him to do just that.  I think he will fine on the defensive end.  He may struggle against heavy and physical 3s, but how many of those will we face.

Don't underestimate the value Cardwell brings to the team.  He brings physicality, energy and extra fouls in the post.  He defends, block shots and most importantly boxes out.  He will be overlooked by many and criticized by the uneducated fans, but he will be a critical piece of the puzzle and play a very important role this season.

    Let's get it started.  WDE!

I agree with all of this (as someone who knows nothing really about bball).

    Thanks for the solid write-up!

Lemme break it down for u cats on here.. It's simple really. The reality is, we will prob be 3-3 come Oct 13th.

Our season will be made the last 6 games. Can we go 4-2 . If so, we got a bowl game and momentum.  It's doable, but Freeze has GOT to get this QB and offense an identity b4 Oct 13th. Living week to week and over analyzing the next two games ain't gonna cause nothing but an increase in zanax use.

Yeah, we have to get better the 2nd half of the season because you're right about our record in the next few weeks.  Momentum after playing the UGA/LSU will be key to keeping the fanbase happy and keeping the recruits coming.

True. What also is true is he hasn't been able to designate all of his focus to being just an OC since 2002...in Auburn, AL.

What also is true is A&M is averaging 21.25 PPG more than they did last season.

His old ass can still make and call a good offensive gameplan and now doesn't have all of the other responsibilities of a HC.

We are up 15 PPG over last year on Offense as well, just to put things into perspective.

Plus, we are only giving up 12 ppg this year as opposed to 30 ppg last year.

The only team they played with a pulse they lost to, even with their increased O production.  He may wipe the floor with us but I just don't see it.

Pritchett and McLeod are not even listed on the injury report!!!

    Thats great news!!!🙌🙌🙌

Most of those guys listed as “questionable” should play as well!!!   Obviously, I’m very excited to see Jarquez run behind this new OL!!!

Ready to see those 2 rock it tonight

  7. AU - 41

    Cal - 27

The travel talk is negated because we arrived earlier, plenty of time to adjust.  As mentioned, these young kids don’t give a damn what time the game starts and will be amped up to play.

Playing on the road - always a legitimate concern.

With that said, I think we struggle at first to stop them but make adjustments as the game goes on and slow their O down to limited yards in the 2nd half.

Our RB’s will feast and prove to be the difference as their D wears out by the start of the 4th.

Cal QBs (both of them) and RB looked good in their cupcake game -- same as Auburn. Cal OL looked much improved over last year -- much as Auburn. Cal secondary looked much better this time, as did Auburn's.

A night game in Berkeley is a VERY LATE NIGHT game for Auburn.

This is not a gimmee. Auburn really needs this game, because games vs SEC teams ...... meh.

We are talking about 18-23 year olds, I think they will be fine starting at 9:30 PM CST.  US old farts around here might have some difficulties, though.

Sobering thought on KJ. He is doing his announcement on 1 of the major Atlanta TV stations. I just can't see him not picking UGA on a major ATL station. I have a feeling the station wouldn't sign off on showing the annoucement if it wasn't UGA.

Mabye, but Buford is close to 1 hour outside of downtown Atlanta. I can't imagine there are many stations coming outside of Buford.  Using a big Atlanta station gets him broadcasted all over the state...I think he really wants this spotlight.

I realize he could use Instagram or something else but I don't see him choosing a big station as a pointer to the butt-sniffers.
