    • This was a strange game in terms of the officiating in the secondary. Don't remember when I've seen as much pushing, shoving, and grabbing between defensive backs and receivers go uncalled, at least not involving teams not named Alabama. Noah Igbinoghene led the Auburn defense with 8 solo tackles, and it seemed like he was involved in every other play.

^Even I found this one notable^, and many thanks for the overall post

Rep came in with the entire Clyde line. The 110 proof was easily my favorite. It is being made in Kentucky(he wouldn’t tell me who), until probably 2021 or 2025 something like that. He wasn’t totally clear.

    The rye is MGP fwiw.

    Forgive me but

    "MGP"?

I do not like to bash our coaches. I try to be patient and try and understand the reasoning behind playcalls. That said I played football growing up, defensive end/tackle to be exact. Auburn's offense is incredibly frustrating to watch. I, like a lot of you, feel there is zero rythem to the calls. I don't see any type of play calling used to set up other plays later on or even from one play to the next. It looks like an inefficient high school offense most of the time. I really hope that we see some steps forward in the offense as a whole or I am afraid we are going to be beaten up in SEC play this year. This defense and some players on offense do not deserve that type of a season.

    Thanks.

    Welcome home.

    Post often.

That’s all I’ve drank whiskey wise recently. I really enjoy it, Eagle Rare, and Buffalo.

Trying to confirm/update my recollections, I found this ~yr old article concerning their plans:

“The brand is giving back to Alabama

In 2017, Conecuh Ridge Distillery announced they will be opening a $13 million tasting facility in Troy. The facility will include an artisan distillery, rack houses and a bottling hub, with an estimated 50 jobs created for the area.

The site will give visitors an opportunity to engage directly with the brand on stops through southern Alabama."

    https://www.al.com/life/erry-2018/03/98c4117201/everything_you_should_know_abo.html,

but I find no evidence of completion yet.

Got a bottle on my shelf (gift from son in law) that I'm waiting to crack in fall weather.

Kentucky is not the only place that makes bourbon 😉. A common misconception. Bourbon can be made in only the contiguous US(sorry Hawaii and Alaska).

There’s strict guidelines on what can be considered bourbon, but being made exclusively in Kentucky isn’t one of them. A good chunk of the bourbon(especially the newer distilleries) on the shelves is actually made by MGP in Indiana.

Haven’t heard of Dettling, but I bet it’s an MGP product. Clyde May’s is another Alabama bourbon.

It was my understanding that Clyde May's was declared the state whiskey, but that was back when distillation was not yet legal.

Haven't tried it yet, but I believe it's now built elsewhere?

I love DRAM. Dude is so legit, songs are fun. He broke this on the r/hhh subreddit and did an impromptu AMA. I’ve linked his Tiny Desk performance a handful of times.

Just gonna head this off at the pass:@AUld fAUx@: “r/hhh”=hiphopheads subreddit, hip hop forum. “AMA”=‘ask me anything’. ?

'course, suspect I've dropped some rather obscure (to many),older references, on occasion

    Pretty good music, as well

    Many Thanks

As AI develops, I think we will find out. Well, someone will. I think I'll be dead by the time AI advances that far.

It was originally just a short story. A lot of those really old (ahem) scifi stories/books are still quite relevant and fun reading today. I keep hearing rumors of more attempts to make a movie of Asimov's "Foundation" trilogy, but I fear it would be schlock like the various Asimov robot incarnations or the Clark Martian Chronicles efforts. And I've never been thrilled with the various efforts at Fahrenheit 451. Would there ever be a Heinlein "Stranger in a Strange Land" movie that was anything close to the impact of the original novel? But I think some better takes on Ursula LeGuin could be possible.

    Alas,

lot's failed attempts to capture Dune, as well, but

many of Mr. Dick's stories seem to have adapted OK.

I was thinking just yesterday about all the "great" films and blockbusters I've seen that, even though I recognize their artistic achievement and/or popular appeal, once is enough. I never want to see them again. And then there are the movies I never want to see even once because I cannot stand the star.

One of the great movies I love and have watched many times (in all its re-release versions) is Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner."

I really liked "The Ninth Gate" which was different enough from the book it was based on (The Club Dumas) that I like both the book and the movie, although the movie eliminates an entire storyline completely.

"Young Frankenstein" is such fun, as is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

A holiday tradition in our house is "Hogfather" based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld book. It is the only holiday-related movie I can stand.

I thought "Ex Machina" was a masterly scifi movie.

"The Maltese Falcon" is irresistible to me.

And another of the "great movies" that I really like is Bogart/Bacall in "The Big Sleep." Have you seen the remake that starred Robert Mitchum and Sarah Miles? An odd remake, but I watch just to watch Sarah Miles.

And for total absolute silliness (and gloriously shredding parody), I always turn to "Galaxy Quest."

"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

If you have a Prime login, you can access music from the website and stream from any device if you're so inclined. No pressure though.

Still making edits. Just caught the lyric, "When we make love, your cries will be heard far away, and everything I need is between those thighs". That one's going on a different playlist. Not the one that my toddler mostly ignores to at the beach.

    Found it.

Much (surprise?) new to me there.

    Review might take a

    minute?

    Many Thanks.

For any Prime subscribers. Put it on shuffle since many of the artists and like styles are lumped together. Just under 26 hours of music. Let's just say I lack decisiveness and focus sometimes. And I'm a people pleaser. Speaking of, please don't judge. I have a wife and a 3 yr old daughter to cater to with this.  And a lot of it ended up being very basic, common beach fodder after all. But I guess that music got that way for a reason.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I think we've got access up at the Tloosa place. On my list next trip.

    Many Thanks.

My first craft beer I legally bought a couple days after my 21st in Orlando before the Capital One/Citrus Bowl against Wisconsin in 2006. That’s a tough one to tailgate with. The outcome of the game was hard to stomach too.

'Course before the craft beer explosion but, the day I came of age, I gave the sales clerk hell for not carding me.

Not at all! On the list. Also some Neil Young from Harvest. And some John Hartford, Leon Russell, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, De La Soul, Aretha Franklin, Drive By Truckers, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Gillian Welch,  lots of Latin jazz, Jerry Douglass, Jerry Garcia Band, Widespread Panic, Phish, Temptations, Beck, Cyndi Lauper, Toto, Miguel, Janelle Monae, Outkast, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Herb Alpert, Willie Nelson, Jane's Addiction...

...so there is some basic beach ish on there. Gotta come back to home base from time to time. And it might not be... focused. But I am trying to get a fairly comprehensive jukebox to take with us wherever we go.

    Thanks for the memory jog.

Always admired the sheer artistry of this album cover (which we, alas, lost in the Flood of '14)

    Welcome aboard!

La Fin du Monde is an excellent beer. Never gets old. One of my earlier introductions to craft and I still find myself purchasing a bomber from time to time. I’m quite lucky to actually be able to find it on the reg. As you said, heavy, like a lot of tripels, and deceptively so. Easy to drink too quickly if you’re not careful.

Others in the style I’d recommend should you happen across them.

    Chimay Cinq Cents

    Westmalle

    St. Bernardus Tripel

All also very good, but I’m not going to lie, Unibroue’s offering is what I consider the class of the style among those I’ve tried.

    Please forgive me, but
