Thereâs no sugar coating this. This is embarrassing. He brings nothing to the table except depth. Much rather have gotten someone from JUCO who was dominant than someone who couldnât even make any impact at SMU. This is a joke.
So should Auburn quit playing basketball đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸âŚ.

lol dude come on. Heâs a seventh round pick. Odds are he doesnât make it past the first round of cuts.
But some players from round seven doâŚwhy not him? Texans use a heavy DL rotation and he was an all SEC player, I think he has an above average chance to make it.

Marcus stock was not gonna drastically improve by coming back, He still would have fell into the 5-7 round category. One could argue it was true for most of the guys that went. I feel confident the players knew of the NIL potential but opted for the opportunity to make money over time vs one season. Get drafted work hard and make a roster. I am rooting for all of them to do big things, there will be some busts from rounds 1-2 and some diamonds from rounds 5-7.Â

I actually like Nike far more than any other, I think UA blew a chance to really excel in the apparel space by investing too much in sneakers to try and compete with adidas and nikeâŚ.bottom line UA shoes are flawed in design and performance (outside of cleats) but IMO they had better performance apparel than the other twoâŚ.anyway we can always bring back Russell Athletic đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸

Not impressed with Thornton at all. Still hasnât landed Debose even though we were the overwhelming favorites when he decommitted from UGA. Still hasnât capitalized on Sabanâs retirement and landed Glover, along with his teammate Dice. Very disappointing that we still canât fix the weakest link on our team even though EVERYONE knows about it. And now we canât even land a big time legacy.Â
Is this Brandon Jacobs son? If so I donât view him (Brandon)as a big time legacyâŚwasnât he at Auburn like one season and transferred? May not be much War Eagle loyalty there, itâs not like this is Cadillac or Ronnie Brownâs kid. Still I agree we still have not landed that elite HS OT yetâŚbut I feel like that itâs gonna happen this year, with Micah Dubose. Patience.

Whoever the DC is will be, is looking at a position staff that is already in place. I mean every position is spoken for except the coordinator/play callerâŚmaybe why Freeze is seeking someone he has worked with in the pastâŚđ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸

So how does the NIL work? Do they get all of it upfront, is it an installment plan, end of semester, type payout. If they hop in the portal do they have to pay it back? A lot of responses said now Auburn can use the RW money on other potential portal players or 2025 recruits. Does someone just write a check out of the On To Victory account and says âWelcome to AuburnâÂ

I would loved to have gotten him. But itâs hard to be too upset when you signed four of the top WRs in the country - two 5-stars and two 4-stars. Stealing two high profile guys from Bama would have been the chefâs kiss. Gravy. Extra.Â
After losing Saban and us flipping some guys and their portal losses, I think they were going to do or pay whatever it took to get this win. The PR implications were much bigger for them than us under the current circumstances.Â
I agree there was no way in hell they were gonna let RW go to Auburn. A part of me feels he leveraged the Saban retirement to pull a lil more $$$ out of the Updykes by saying he may consider going somewhere else.Â

The next in-state premium blue chip prospect that both Bama and Auburn want that chooses AU over Bama will be the first imo. And while there have been good players who have chosen AU over UA, Iâm talking elite program-changers.
Have not seen him playâŚ.but is he that much better than Perry, Cain, and Simmons?

Funny kid is gonna make more money than some starting receivers in the NFL and current starters in college football. Strange times.

All these bammer dudes offering themselves up for the highest bidder? It doesn't bother me in this case, couldn't happen to a better place but anyone who thinks this broken setup is good for college football is nuts.
Kid said he wanted to play for Saban, Saban made millions and left. Now he wants to move on and make some pocket change in the process. I see no problem with it. If his name, image and likeness can generate $$$ for himselfâŚwhy not?

FACTS man. Honestly how he pulled the WRs we currently have, I have no idea. So hopefully that magic works with RW because Thorne ain't it.Â
I think he sold them on being developed alongside Walker White, and the fact what he did with Treadwell, AJ, and DKâŚ.and probably a nice slice of the NIL collective.

RW is an elite athelete. He has to look at our QB situation and wonder who is going to get him the ball. College football is all about "business decisions" now for these kids. No one should blame them. I certainly would not blame RW if he went to Texas with the QB they have and how Sark can scheme for him. Of the teams on his list right now I would think we are in last place to land him.Â
Did Perry, Cam, Malcolm, and Cain not look at the same QB scenario? Also Ryan just reclassified a month or so ago and if he stayed in 2025 WW would have been his potential QB anyway. Ryan can also be dynamic in the short passing game, sweeps, reverses, etc.Â

I think the QB position will be the biggest difference maker. It has been alluded this has been is biggest issue. I do believe he has a lot of respect for Auburn but I donât think he trusts our QB.
Wasnât he interested in Auburn prior to his reclassification? If thatâs the case his QB was probably gonna be Walker White anyway, so he is almost looking at the same scenario. Another thing about Ryan vs the other Fab 4 is you can get him involved in other ways, speed sweeps, screens, etc. He can be almost a Percy Harvin type. Even though Thorne has been hot and cold, I donât think itâs the impediment many may think regarding Williams recruitmentâŚ..now the OL thatâs a different discussion đ

Seems Hugh is selling them all on being the receivers who grow and evolve with Walker White as their QB not Thorne. They probably know this is Thorneâs last season and after that itâs the WW show along with the Fab4 and maybe RW. None of these receivers have played a down of college ball just like Walker and will require some time to develop. The last freshman receiver I recall coming in killing it in the SEC was Julio Jones, so it will be a learning curve for all of them. As for Thorne having more talent at the receiver position will make him better. More separation from DBâs; speed and most importantly guys who can actually catch the ball. He got the other 4 to commit with the same QB situationâŚwhy canât the same apply for Ryan?Â

I was being sarcastic, however I do believe you are selling Denver short⌠I think he can excel particularly if Auburnâs has better penetration from the PG spot. Auburn tried to increase depth at the position but kids decided to go elsewhere. You say sunshine pump, I just donât see the doom and gloom, and trust Pearl to adjust to the strengths and weaknesses of this roster.Â
