  1. So is this like half time? Team boosters had a big lead and then team CH had a amazing late touchdown as time expired. We are now watching the half time rants and waiting for the big finish. We may need new cheerleaders though. Not sure about the ones we have.

  2. I pull for Fickell. Just because he would bring a lot of excitement to fans and potential recruits. I do not see any other option that is an instant perception changer. Others may end up being great coaches but this would feel like a win in a bad situation. May not be possible but I can hope.

Wanna know why Greene isn’t doing anything? Cause he’s done too. Him and Harsin are gonna be hanging out in a pool here again soon.

You hearing anyone decent? I need a little ray of hope.

Absolutely!!!!   The sun will shine on the loveliest village on the plains again!   However, I am afraid it’s going to take a minimum of 3-5 years.  Our dumpster fire of a situation combined with our schedule, recruiting foes, etc. means we’ve got a very steep hill to climb!   It will happen, but it will take time.   And I’m 99% sure CBH won’t be here to see it happen.   He just has an extremely short leash.

Only if a good coach is hired and allowed to do his job. Now throw in the Nil stuff. We might keep being a flash in the pan program until this happens. Lucky one year then a 6 win team the next.

Lots of you guys high on Deion. I realize he'd be a big name and would bring in some big recruits, but there's no telling how good or bad of a HC he would be, and he'd likely jump to FSU as soon as humanly possible. He doesn't have much of a resume.

You think we could get someone with a good resume at this point? Or without some kind of baggage?

  6. Here is the thing that upsets me. The program looses no matter what happens now. It will be harder for CH than ever before at AU. If he leaves, I am not sure they can get anyone worth having. What about the players that are loyal to CH? I figure they will leave if they can. I am afraid this will impact AU for multiple years. Longer than this recruiting class or the next. Would any coach really want to come here after this crap? Look at Texas. Their boosters have turned a once proud team into a joke for many years now and they never pulled this crap. I hope I am wrong and someone says if Harsin leaves they have someone ready to come in with full control that can save the day. However, I do not feel optimistic and a  interim coach would kill recruiting next year. Hope I am wrong.

  7. I have no clue what has actually happened but I agree culture has to change. We have been complaining about culture, route trees, PTB for years. As soon as it starts to change and we see something negative we want Gus and the PTB back. Is it all we know so we are comfortable with it? I am tired of the JABA crap. If he messed up do what needs to be done. However, unless some things change I do not believe AU will ever be at the top consistently. If he did nothing wrong, I hope he is the man we need to do an old fashioned rat killin and fix this program. If he screwed up I hope we can get someone who can.

  8. Just curious how much communication these players are having with other programs before they enter the portal? It seems a lot of the kids already know where they are going when they hit the portal. Could some be offered something to get them to leave? I know it is not supposed to happen but, I would guess it still does. Wonder if CH is not playing these money games with guys and if that would explain some things? Someone with more insight might have a better idea.

  9. Ok… positives. Lord knows we need some. Big predictions (going out on a limb)

    offense:

o line will be better this year. I have a hard time thinking of a college o line with as much experience as this one will have this year. 23 will be different story unless he gets some new faces in.

RBs will be best group we have had in a while! Experience plus new talent.

QB can’t be much worse than last year. Maybe a new guy will step up.

TE more experience plus new blood. Looks good. Going to have to be heavily utilized.

    Wr TBD

What position are we better at?

QB is a push vs Bo. Each is better at something different, different QB'S

    RB is a push

    TE is a push

OL isn't any better and lost two starters

    WR is worse.

    NT got worse

    DT push

    DE push

    LB is worse

    CB is worse

    S is worse

QB - TBD hopefully at least a push but could be better.

HB - Better. Year of experience pus the additions. Only loose worm.

Wr- Worse at the moment but it will not take much to improve the position. King to Wr and finally get a guy to come in and it could be stronger.

OL- I will go Push. Lost two starters but I believe they could fill the holes with guys on the roster. Depth would still be bad but some guys will have another year in the system. A few additional guys would put it in better shape than last year. Need some manic here.

DL- improved. Guys coming back and guys coming in.

LB - Worse. Not bad but worse.

DBs- Push. A lot of talent and new faces. Would not be surprised if it is better a few games into the season.

Just my opinion. It and a dollar probably will not buy you a coke.

  11. This is getting me. I like the fact we are going after big fish. However, when you go after big fish you miss some. Does not mean no one wants to come here. I have no doubt they have the full court press on some guys. Still some good sized fish out there but may be getting closer to closing time. The 3 star guys might start looking better when the light are about to turn off.

i also think the fact that less information leaks with this staff makes people think nothing is happening. I will be concerned until we have some guys but I think they will get some.

Exorbitant NIL deals are not sustainable.  The newness of the NIL landscape will chill and deep pockets will cut back on the payments.  NIL is here to stay, but not in its present form.

For most schools, I agree. However, there are some school that have donors that hate loosing and have enough stupid money to make a big difference. I think the powers will shift over time to these schools. I wonder if it will eventually force some school into a different division that goes about athletics differently.

Just think how much money someone like CW could make for the town of AU and anyone that deals in merchandise or goods related to AU. If he could have a Cam type impact on the program. How much could a business make off of his likeness (jersey sales, etc.) Is he worth the price? No clue. Would I like to see? Absolutely, as long as it not my money.
