Point still stands. No reason to get up in arms about recruiting in June.
You're right. I'll hold judgment until the beginning of September.

I swear, I read that every year, about this time, and then once signing day rolls around we land yet another top 10 class.
Not from me.

This is the year our 8-5 and 7-6 mediocre seasons have finally caught up to us. If we do not have a monster season WHICH we very well can do with stidham and the rest of the talent we have on our roster then O boy it could get even uglier.
I have been a Gus fan and defender this whole time and have never advocated once that we jump off the Gus bus, but if we have another 8-5 season or worse, I will be jumping off the Gus bus. In fact, not only will I personally jump off the Gus bus but I will also throw a spike strip in front of the bus to take out its tires.

We cannot get guys to pull the trigger when every sign points to them doing so. We also seem to be in the position of kids going man it would be auburn IF so and so did not offer or does not offer. There is at least 3 cases of that this recruiting season in monday, michael harris and master teague.
Not to mention that we are starting to trial for some kids that we originally thought we led for like Armour-Davis. It's just all a very very bad combo of events. Since so many of our top targets are expected to commit in August, this summer will make or break our recruiting class. Gus better not be takin any freakin vacations anywhere this summer.

I swear I feel like this recruiting season just keeps getting worse and worse.

Currently, no one has missed out on anyone. Per 247, and most articles I've read, we have offered. He's committed to Kansas, which no decent football player would chose over, well, anyone, so I'd say he's still fair game... if we want him and he has any interest in us there's still plenty of time. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he committed just to get a little peace. All of that being said, most signs are pointing to him flipping to LSU when he decides that Kansas was a bad idea.
I should add, if he likes Lawrence and the atmosphere around KU, then Auburn probably doesn't have a shot. They are night and day different. Lawrence is a VERY liberal, bordering on hippy, town. That's a far cry from Auburn, which was named the most conservative school in the country.
Something fishy is in the water. Sounds like Kansas is adopting Ole Miss's recruiting strategy.
The people who named Auburn the most conservative school in the country clearly never visited Liberty University (aka Falwell U).
Edit: And that post puts me at 2,000.

I have a question,if JG can not start at his school over the other QB at his school why are we not recruiting the other QB?
They are sharing snaps so the other kid isnt necessarily starting over him and the other kid doesn't have any power five conference offers.

Every team needs a Buddy Garrity.

I think this is great news for us that he doesn't have any leaders any more. I have a strong feeling that he ends up signing with us.

With limited snaps I think both will have trouble making it at Quarterback in a P-5 Conference (someone needs to transfer).
Sounds like they are playing a game of chicken. Which one transfers first? I could have swore that Joey made a clear statement recently that he wouldn't be sharing snaps next season

That's funny - didn't know Allen Iverson was a QB coach.

Yes there is. Simple google search pulls up free articles quoting VIP articles from Joey about the article. Apparently they offered last year but he didn't know til yesterday. He said he may visit them at some point. To your point though, he seems mildly interested at best.
WTF???? How is that even possible? So someone gets an offer from the most successful college football program in the country and they don't even know about it?

Really? Have you seen the offense he has been running? He would be tailor made to play QB at AU. If anything, that would be a positive for AU compared to the other schools who are offering him.
I don't disagree that Bo Nix's talents appears to fit in well with our scheme. My point was simply a response to your earlier statement that if Bo doesn't sign with Auburn, that the only explanation for this would be if there are internal issues on our staff. My response was simply to point out that Bo might feel like there is a better system or coach out there with whom he might have more success.

You would think this would be common sense. If somebody like Bo were to walk away from Auburn after being a fan their whole life with a family history there, you would think there is some internal issues going on. There is no reason this kid shouldn't sign to AU.
Disagree. While its probable that Nix signs with Auburn, what if he finds a different offensive scheme that he feels like fits his skill set better than Auburn's does? There doesn't have to be any internal issues for him to sign elsewhere.

I saw 6'3, 280 lbs last week.
Not bad, but 280 is a bit small for a DT isn't it? Especially if Steele is moving to a 3-4 technique. We trying to get Ole Miss style DTs who are really athletic and can sack the QB?

Update here. DN is expected to grow a bit more & end up at DT for AU. He still plans to graduate juco in December with 3 years to play 3 seasons at AU starting in 2018. I have seen a number of coaches speak highly of him FWIW.
Any idea what his measurable are now? I love that he has 3 years of eligibility.

I have no issues with taking Ohio State's leftovers....especially if UGA wants him too!

The new Tarzan movie sucked.
I think the more important question is - why did you go to the movie theatre to watch Tarzan to begin with?

I LOAAAAAAATHE that expression and hate it with a passion of so and so says hello but the texas tech transfer and tyler taylor say HIIIIIII! Come on E that is 1. but we have lost more than we have won against O since he took over. And it is not even in state guys in LA we are losing too him on. Bryant was YUUUGE! Big Cat was a shock everyone thought he was going to lsu mere hours before he announced but so very glad we got him. Big momentum for us that day. I hope we bludgeon them on the field in red stick this season. We owe them many a beatdowns over there as it is. Have not won there since the cigar game under tubs.
Coach O says hello.

I admire Gus for being a straight shooter but it appears as if other teams often do a better job of telling recruits what they want to hear.

Is this guy gonna play a key role in getting us to the NCAA tournament? Is he any good?

Taking care of would mean the offer is commitable. Not sure that it is yet.
I have never truly understood this whole noncommitable offer thing. Doesn't that pretty much amount to no offer at all?
