  1. Yep, I saw this too. Bammer has been getting away with this for years. THis is what pisses me off about SEC officiating being so bammer biased. I hardly see bammer being called for holding, but they sure like to call everybody else for it.
  2. Steelers finally got a touchdown. I thought they were going to go TD-less for the entire playoffs
  3. Do the Steelers know how to do anything besides kick field goals?
  4. Go Chiefs! Hope Dee Ford sacks Roethlisberger a couple of times
  5. al.com = crap. Unless you're a bammer fan, there is no reason to get info from them on any other collegiate program
  6. The SEC as a whole had an out of conference record of 38-13. However, the majority of those teams were cupcakes. Don't know if that really makes the SEC look any better. I believe the SEC was subpar this year. Definitely not the pinnacle league this year. Anyways, it will be interesting to see the SEC's bowl record.
  7. I was at the game and yes from what I saw much work needs to be done at the free throw line. You're right, we won't be able to win many close games down to the wire without making free throws.
  8. I've said it all year and I'll say it again. The SEC officiating sucks this year. What do expect when you have a bammer heading the officiating?
  9. Pittsburgh defense looked horrible
  10. I trust your judgement on this one, coach. When I watched it the first couple of times, I thought he was offsides. You keyed in on a detail I did not think about: Tyler Stovall's quick thinking and reaction. Hats off to Stovall for saving the day, or it could have been worse...
  11. I don't remember single holding call on Vandy. In fact in the last several games the officials have not been calling many holding calls on Auburn's opponents. See, the second point above is what make me wonder about the "conspiracy theories." How come Auburn is suddenly called for holding "coincidentally" when it is big momentum play for Auburn. I wouldn't mind the bogus holding calls so much if they were not on game changing plays. The fact that they call a bogus holding penalty on Auburn at opportune times makes me wonder.... How can an official 20 yards away be allowed to make a holding call?
  12. I agree. What is a tackle anymore? A good clean hit? Who knows? It appears that SEC officiating is having a hard time calling consistently across the board, that is for sure. This targeting stuff is getting ridiculous...
  13. Does Auburn not have an answer for the short quick passes? This is the second week in a row that the defense has gotten torched by quick short passes. Vanderbilt put 221 yards passing on this defense, that is the most they've had all season and since last season's opener. Chad Kelly set a school record against Auburn's defense. Will Auburn be able to stop the bleeding? I didn't see much of an adjustment Saturday.
  14. You are right. I saw that too. Very frustrating.
  15. I second that. I've also enjoyed listening to Coach's podcast on the War Eagle Sports Radio app.
  16. Totally agree about the officiating. It has been awful this year. I thought the officiating was supposed to get better as the year goes on, giving them time to correct their mistakes. Doesn't the SEC office review the mistakes weekly? How come they continue to make the same bad calls?
  17. Politics definitely plays a huge part in the game of college football. Now to what degree some may argue. But there is more than meets the eye going on in the background of major university football programs. College football is a business and brings in more money than any other college sport, especially in the SEC. So there will be some to question how and why the BOT is set up the way it is. It makes no sense for a UA grad and fan to run an AU program, as it does an AU grad and fan to run a UA program. Of course there will be bias. Same thing goes for the officiating in the SEC. I've always said that they need to work on "fairness" as much as possible when it comes to officiating the game. We are human beings and we all have bias. For someone to tell me that the head of SEC officiating, who is a UA grad and "fan", is completely fair and in no way would ever show any bias for or against "certain" teams, is completely living in fantasy land. All I'm saying is the way things are set up now, I don't think the "conspiracy" theorists are too far off. There is definitely some questionable calls being made in leadership positions. And yes the move to terminate the UAB football program was a political move.
  18. I've been disappointed with officiating so far this season and we are only two games in. They are making way too many mistakes, and costly mistakes at that. You're right, that kind of mistake by the official, cost Auburn a touchdown. And had this been an SEC game, it possibly could have cost us the game. I know referees are only human, but they have to do a better job and be held accountable for their errors. From my understanding the Auburn coaching staff can review the penalties with the league to get a better understanding of what they saw. Imo if a referee continues to make by judgement calls, they should eventually be demoted and not allowed to referee games in the SEC anymore. I'm not sure how officials are evaluated in the SEC. I've been keeping up with penalties so far this year for Auburn. Clemson game: Auburn 9/60 yds to Clemson 6/55 yds Arky state game: Auburn 5/40 yds to Arky States 10/71 yds What those stats don't show is the penalties that kill Auburn's drives at inopportune times, sometimes in resulting in a TD being called back. This is especially troubling when the penalty is unwarranted.
  19. I still find the offensive line to be suspect. This concerns me going into SEC play. Although the line played better last night, imo there is a lot of room for improvement. I hope we have enough time in a week to get a lot of issues addressed and corrected. Coach Ray is spot on about Xavier Dampeer. He seems to be struggling at the center position, a position that you don't have the luxury to take your time to learn during the season. I really hope he gets better fast. Coach Ray stated it perfectly that he is not moving his feet, and he is snapping the ball too slow. He is also getting pushed back way too much. Oh well, lets hope he makes a drastic turn around in game three.
  20. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I've been expecting more out of Adams and Lawson, but haven't heard much out of them. I know Lawson has one sack. However, it seems like they are not playing up to their potential so far this year. I hope they wake up soon as we go into SEC play.
  21. I can't stand AL.com. I don't know why any Auburn fan would want to read about Auburn sports on their site. All they do is try to conjure up negative rumors about Auburn and print them as fact. AL.com is notorious for posting click bait articles about Auburn football. They send James Crapea to try to dig up any dirt he can find to try to rip on the program. They are a UAt site that feeds the Bammer trolls.
  22. Speaking of moving forward, I wish Gus would get past using the same excuse every year "we had a lot of young guys out there," when asked about the poor offensive performance. Maybe it has not so much to do with the "experience" of the players, but instead poor play calling. I mean, this is Gus' fourth year at Auburn. Third year of his recruits. Every program has new guys to come in to help out, but not every program has the issues we are having on offense. I appreciate you Gus, but come one, you have had multiple years to recruit and it seems like the offense is regressing every year.
  23. Being new also, I just realized how that worked when I had a post deleted because they felt it did not fit their forum...oh well, everybody's entitled to their opinion, but there seems to be some censorship going on
  24. I agree, I don't believe in bashing the coach. However, I will question his mindset after last nights debacle. I hope he proves us all wrong and turns this thing around
