  1. I love this strategy of including Texas as a State we put a lot of effort in. Last year we proved we could have success and look where our latest commit is from! I’m excited with this new approach. We will always recruit heavily in Alabama, Georgia and Florida but expanding to Texas makes too much since to ignore. It’s already paying big dividends!

I've read its unlikely and that he's a Texas lean but with Shaka Smart likely to be fired after this season I wonder if he's exploring other options. Greg Brown's highlights are so ridiculous I'm pretty sure Auburn Arena would collapse on itself after one of his dunks. Absolutely filthy the kid is looking to embarrass anyone that jumps with him lol I love it

Thanks for your quick response. Had not heard Shaka Smart is likely to be fired. Yes that could hurt Texas.  Also wasn’t Memphis our other main competition for Brown? With their terrible season maybe we are still in this? I already love our class but can you imagine if we were to add Green, Brown and another top big man (assuming Okoro leaves)? That would be insane!

So with 7 spots and 2 open for GTs here's my list of targets I'd like to get in order from biggest want to least. I'll highlight the ones I think we close with.

    1. Noah Cain, RB
    2. Clay Webb, OG/C
    3. Nakobe Dean, ILB
    4. Derick Hall, Buck
    5. William Putnam, OG/OT
    6. Trezman Marshall, LB
    7. Kenny McIntosh, RB
    8. Tyron Hopper, LB
    9. Jammie Robinson, S
    10. Kalen DeLoach, LB
    11. Jalen Curry, WR
    12. Mark Anthony-Richards, RB
    13. Raydarious Jones, ATH
    14. Jammie Robinson, S
    15. Cortez Andrews, S
    16. Kenny Logan, ATH
    17. Nehemiah Pritchett, CB
    18. Tahj Gary, RB
    19. Larry McCammon, RB

Other than RB, I would be happy with that class. But Gary may be underrated.

Well ranking facts diasagrre with your opinion. There have been many average to subpar seasons for upper tier P5 schools over the years who had top 10-12 classes without a major coaching change. Most notable recent example is Butch Jones at Tennessee.

Recruiting is about relationships and unless there’s a major coaching change or the head coach is really on the hot seat then sam  season record rarely has an effect on the outcome of a class. It’s not just me saying this either. People who get paid to cover recruiting for the most part have said the same thing. I appreciate you Sam but I’m tired of arguing this with you off and on over the past few years.

Ellitor, I think you must have me confused with someone else? I have only been a member for 1 year and I do not remember arguing with you about anything?  I usually agree with your posts. I guess we will just agree to disagree about this. But if I’ve upset you I will glad to not post anymore.

"Hey Derick, you know half the fan base is already calling for the staff to be fired...it's all over Twitter and Facebook. Check it out, they're not happy at the lack of preparation and sloppy play.  Heck, they want Jimbo back.  He might build something, but that's a mighty, mighty big IF...it's a huge gamble that he even gets enough time to do that.  However, you can help me build something greater right here, right now at Auburn."

    Exactly

How often does hot seat talk start before December of a coach's first season? Other than among the psycho fringe of the fanbase, I mean.

Usually it will not start until year 2 or even 3 by the media. But  coaches from other schools will start telling recruits almost immediately. I know for a fact that Gus knows it was used against him the last couple of years and cost him some players. FSU is a major powerhouse that expects to be competing for the ACC and National Championship every year. If FSU loses several games every other programs including Auburn will be telling recruits there is a good chance a coaching change will occur while you are playing football at Florida State (regardless if it happens or not).

See @McLoofus‘s  post right above yours. He gets it. First year coaches usually have about a three year grace period. If FSU struggles this year it will likely not have a negative affect on recruiting for this class. This has been proven time and again in college football throughout the years that average to sub par seasons don’t affect recruiting  in the current class without an accompanying major coaching change.

Disagree, I have been following recruiting for over 40 years. If a coach and team are struggling hot seat rumors get started and it does have an impact even if the coach does not get fired.

One poor game or one poor season usually doesn't make any difference. That's unless there are strong rumors of the coaching staff being fired or the staff actually getting fired.

Well unless FSU get significantly better they will lose a lot of games this year.  It will not take long for their coach to get on the hot seat. Can’t hurt us with either player if that happens.
