  1. Vegas decided to drop some lines recently and I think most of them are easy money.

    • Oklahoma @ Auburn (Oklahoma -3)
      • I think this one is fair. They have a bit more consistency and typically receive more respect than us.
    • Auburn @ Georgia (Georgia -24)
      • I think the under here is easy money. Yes, last week's game was at Jordan Hare but we only lost by 7. To think the game being in Athens is a 17-point difference is a stretch. Especially considering I think we are better at almost every position group than we were a season ago.
    • Auburn @ Missouri (Mizzou -10)
      • I understand Mizzou being the favorite at home but I'm going with the under. Not seeing them as a double-digit favorite over us. They have done a good job building a solid program over there and the easy schedule will keep them fresh. Still, I think we win this game or at worst lose it by one possession.
    • Texas A&M @ Auburn (TAMU -3.5)
      • Simply put, I think we are the better team, or at least even. So the home-field advantage should make us the favorite. I believe we beat this team comfortably this season.
    • Auburn @ Alabama (Alabama -15)
      • Milroe is not good and I am not a believer in Husky Harsin. We struggle at BDS and shouldn't be the favorite but Alabama has been hemorrhaging talent this offseason.

    Thoughts?

  2. Just some quick thoughts by position.

QB | I am surprised no one has transferred out yet. If no one leaves we won't add anyone here.

RB | Surprisingly we look to be holding on to what we have.

WR | I still expect two more receivers to hit the portal and we want to add at least one more from the portal. Though I haven't seen any buzz recently.

TE | No active need here.

OL | The Tigers would add the right interior lineman if they saw a fit but currently aren't high on any portal prospects.

DL | Auburn has likely filled this need at this time

LB | We would like to add one more on the interior. South Alabama's Khalil Jacobs just visited on the 30th and has received an offer.

DB | San Jose State corner, Jayvion Cole, had three interceptions last year and is scheduled to visit May 6th.

  3. Steiner leaving is honestly for the better on both sides. For someone who scored so insanely high on his physical measurements he has looked so slow and awful at Auburn. I think maybe his brain and body just don’t process at the same time. Instincts are hard for overly cerebral players. This is a good sign regarding the freshmen linebackers we brought in early.

Scott was practically processed. The staff didn’t plan on taking DBs in the portal but some better names have emerged than expected. Additionally some young guys are coming on really strong.

Hood stings a little but not as much as some might think. Keionte Scott, Kayin Lee, Champ Anthony, Jay Crawford, and Jerrin Thomson are all ahead of him for me. I’d like to see Auburn get longer at corner too instead of 5’11” I’d love to see more rangey 6’2” guys. Makes a difference.

How do you feel about the three guys we're bringin in?

Our secondary is solid so any improvement and depth to the front seven is a win for Auburn's defense. Raikes and Blidi raise our floor at worst. I honestly think Durkin would benefit from running a more true 4 man front when possible and not expecting to have a powerful nose tackle. Blidi is a guy who doesn't pop on a stat sheet but creates enough chaos in the middle to be impactful. Raikes I honestly haven't gotten to watch much of but those who know more than me seem high on him.

The edge rusher is legit. Definitely helps the rotation there.

I would like to see a little more momentum in terms of landing a receiver or two in the portal.

Jaden Rashada is reportedly visiting. Georgia has been considered the favorite, but it seems like they have so many QBs already. Could we pony up the NIL here if we want to? Would we want to?

If he leaves Georgia without being committed I’ll start entertaining Rashada. We have the money but is he okay with sitting the bench and if we’re fine with paying a backup that much.

Are you serious??? Dude's head is spinning so how could you expect anything from him now? Arch Manning tore it up today! Do you know why? Because he had to have time to learn the system and that took a year. It takes time but you are already calling Walker a bust.

I hope I’m wrong but I was concerned with his film and numbers coming out of high school too. It’s one thing to not know the full offense but his ball placement was brutal. We shall see.

Do you expect year 3 to be better despite how many starters we lose? Because that’s where I’m conflicted with what I’m asking for this year…if only half our projected starts by lineup were seniors I’d for sure take 7 wins, no question.

So hard to predict. I think we see an obnoxious amount of frosh playing this year. The portal has made it easier than ever to plug holes too. Year 3 is definitely a better schedule for us but it all focuses on QB play frankly. We’ll be looking for a new starter. Early signs of White aren’t impressive to me.

This x 1000. We are really bad a some key positions. Guys I have zero confidence. Someone tell me I’m wrong .

If the OL is as good as reported and Cobb is as talented as the staff believes and if Freeze really wasn’t calling/designing the offense last year, then we could see a drastic improvement even with Thorne. We have a better receiving group for sure. Defense looks better.

8-4 is attainable but I’m not convinced of anything more than that

Alston by a lot. Damari is the best back on the roster.

If I had to guess the staff’s evaluation of the backs right now from articles and some things that have been shared with me:

    1. Jarquez

    2. Cobb

    3. Alston

    4. Battie

I think years of eligibility left, ability as a receiver, and just preferences in build play a part in Cobb being viewed more favorably than Alston currently. This is coming from a running backs coach who actually was really high on Alston out of high school.

  11. No intel just reading the tea leaves I would guess that we land this guy soon. Transfers often don’t waste time with a whole lot of visits and want to get with their next program to try and play catch-up. The interior of the defense line is an easier spot to learn for sure but Auburn and Blidi both would like for this to be over sooner rather than later.

The heavy DL on this list matches up with what you have all been saying

It was apparent to me last year after watching teams run a basic halfback dive up the middle for 5 yards a pop that our front 7 (particularly the interior) was not up to snuff. That's not a coaching or scheme issue but a personnel problem.

Jayson Jones is a massive human being but he just can't seem to drop his anchor and instead gets put on skates.
