Is it a bonus thing about games played in?

    Possible. Did not consider that.

    Quote from al.com article:

“It’d mean a lot to me personally, which is why I want to play so bad,” Johnson said about the prospect of playing again in 2019. “Just ending on a good note instead of ending on another bad note like last year. Hopefully, we put together two wins here. To other people, it may not mean much, but to us, a win’s a win.”

  2. Be interesting to see the ratings when Dynamite comes back on 1/1/20. Hopefully the Dark Order beatdown angle, used to close last nights show,  does not cause people to give up on the promotion.  Add to that the awful Nightmare Collective angle and I can see AEW causing fans to change the channel to nxt or abandoning wrestling completely.

Doubt Vince Russo could come up with something that bad.

Hopefully, during the Christmas hiatus, AEW can resolve some of the issues with their booking and production of the show and come out strong in 2020. I cheering for them to succeed.

Angelo Blackson earns NFL Player of the Week recognition

Houston Texans defensive end Angelo Blackson has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 15 of the NFL’s 2019 season.

In Houston's 24-21 victory over Tennessee on Sunday, Blackson blocked a 45-yard field-goal attempt by Ryan Succop to end the Titans' first possession of the game. It was the first blocked field-goal attempt by the Texans since the second week of the 2015 season.

The former Auburn standout is in his fifth NFL season and his first as a full-time starter. He entered the league as a fourth-round draft choice of the Titans and has been with the Texans since 2017. Houston signed Blackson to a three-year, $12 million contract in March to keep him from entering free agency.

Auburn NFL roundup: Darius Slayton catches another TD pass from Eli Manning

Rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton got into the end zone again for the Giants as New York defeated the Miami Dolphins 36-20 on Sunday.

Slayton caught two passes for 31 yards, including a 5-yarder for a touchdown as New York took a 14-10 lead with 11:53 left in the third quarter. The Giants led the rest of the game. Slayton caught a 26-yard pass on the first snap of the second half to launch the touchdown drive.

With eight touchdown receptions, Slayton has more than any other NFL rookie this season. Only two rookies in franchise history have had more touchdown receptions than Slayton -- Odell Beckham Jr. with 12 in 2014 and Bill Swiacki with 10 in 1948.

Slayton caught the 366th touchdown pass of Giants quarterback Eli Manning's career -- and it might have been the final one.

In his 16th season, Manning was benched after two games in 2019 in favor of first-round draft choice Daniel Jones. Manning returned to the lineup last week with Jones sidelined by an ankle injury. New York has two games remaining on its 2019 schedule, but if Jones is ready to return next week and speculation about Manning's impending retirement turns out to be true, the QB might have bowed out with a victory at MetLife Stadium.

The Giants sent Alex Tanney into the game to replace Manning during New York's final offensive series, and he received a big ovation from the home crowd as he left the field of play.

“It’s probably something I won’t be able to appreciate until I get older and look back fully," Slayton said, "but it’s definitely a special thing for me. Just being a young guy, a rookie at that, playing with a Hall of Fame quarterback, getting to see something like that, it was a lot of fun.”

Because he missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury, Slayton was playing in his second game with Manning. In the first, he caught five passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-17 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

Slayton was among the 11 former Auburn players who got on the field on the 15th Sunday of the NFL’s 100th season.

Two other former Auburn players were at the Dolphins-Giants game:

    · Dolphins fullback Chandler Cox was designated as inactive. Cox had been listed as doubtful on the Miami injury report because of a shoulder injury.

    · Giants guard Chad Slade (Moody) was designated as inactive.

    In the other Sunday games:

New England Patriots 34, Cincinnati Bengals 13

    · Patriots defensive lineman Byron Cowart was designated as inactive. Cowart was on the New England injury report with a concussion.

    · Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones made one tackle. Jones left the game with a groin injury.

    · Bengals defensive end Carl Lawson made one tackle and registered three quarterback hits.

    · Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham did not play.

    · C.J. Uzomah started at tight end for the Bengals. Uzomah caught an 8-yard pass.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38, Detroit Lions 17

    · Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber gained 17 yards on 10 rushing attempts and caught two passes for 23 yards.

    · Carlton Davis started at cornerback for the Buccaneers. Davis made three tackles and broke up a pass.

    · Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean made three tackles and broke up two passes. He also registered the first punt return in his NFL career and muffed the ball out of bounds at the Tampa Bay 1-yard line.

Houston Texans 24, Tennessee Titans 21

    · Titans linebacker Daren Bates was designated as inactive. A shoulder injury has kept Bates off the field for two straight games.

    · Angelo Blackson started at defensive end for the Texans. Blackson made two tackles and blocked a field-goal attempt. On Tennessee's first possession of the game, Blackson got a hand on a 45-yard field goal attempt.

Green Bay Packers 21, Chicago Bears 13

    · Packers defensive lineman Montravius Adams played but did not record any stats.

Jacksonville Jaguars 20, Oakland Raiders 16

    · Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson made three of his four field-goal attempts and his only extra-point kick. Carlson connected on field goals of 33, 34 and 27 yards in the first half and was wide left on a 45-yard attempt in the fourth quarter.

    · Jaguars defensive tackle Dontavius Russell was designated as inactive.

Arizona Cardinals 38, Cleveland Browns 24

    · Greg Robinson started at left offensive tackle for the Browns.

    Atlanta Falcons 29, San Francisco 49ers 22

    · Forty-Niners defensive end Dee Ford (St. Clair County) was designated as inactive. Ford did not practice last week because of a hamstring injury.

    · Falcons long snapper Josh Harris handled the snaps on five punts, two extra-point kicks and one field-goal attempt.

Buffalo Bills 17, Pittsburgh Steelers 10

    · Bills wide receiver Duke Williams was designated as inactive.

The 15th week of the season started with the Baltimore Ravens' 42-21 victory over the New York Jets on Thursday night.-point conversion for Baltimore.

The 15th week of the NFL's 2019 season concludes on Monday when the Indianapolis Colts visit the New Orleans Saints at 7:15 p.m. CDT. ESPN will televise the game.

Mike TriplettESPN Staff Writer2 Minute Read

METAIRIE, La. -- Vaughan Johnson, a member of the New Orleans Saints' legendary "Dome Patrol" linebacking corps, died Thursday night at age 57 in North Carolina, according to Saints Hall of Fame general manager Ken Trahan.

The four-time Pro Bowler had been battling kidney disease for several years and lung failure most recently, according to Trahan's report for CrescentCitySports.com.

Johnson began his career with the USFL's Jacksonville Bulls in 1984-85 before spending eight seasons with the Saints and one with the Philadelphia Eagles. Known as a punishing hitter, the 6-foot-3, 235-pounder finished his career with 669 tackles, 12 sacks and 11 forced fumbles.

Denver Broncos coach Vic Fangio, who was Johnson's position coach in New Orleans, told ESPN's Chris Mortensen: "He was a great teammate, loved by everyone. He was a ferocious hitter and great all around ILB. And feared by the RBs in the league when he played. Ask Roger Craig."

Vaughan Johnson was a key cog in the Saints' vaunted "Dome Patrol" linebacking corps, making the Pro Bowl on four occasions. He died Thursday at age 57.USA TODAY Sports

Johnson is the second member of the Dome Patrol to die at an early age, following Sam Mills, who died of intestinal cancer 45 in 2005.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Rickey Jackson and Pat Swilling were the other two members of the fierce foursome, which produced a combined 18 Pro Bowl selections among them. They made history in 1992 by all being selected to the Pro Bowl together.

"He was one of the best players and best people I ever played with," Jackson told Crescent City Sports. "He was never fighting with anyone, the most generous guy I ever knew. He loved everybody. He was the greatest teammate I ever had. He would hit so hard. He was a great player and a great man. I am truly going to miss him. He was my brother. He was more than a teammate. He was my great friend for life."
