I'll be disappointed with less than 8-4. Last year's team would have been 7-5 without the inexplicable loss to New Mexico State. I think to show any improvement the 2024 team will have to be a minimum of 8-4.

No that NMSU loss was a straight ass whooping, the 7th win should’ve been against Bama

But tbh I think Auburn goes about 7-5 too. Thorne just isn’t a good QB even with better weapons I just don’t see it. He struggled in 6 straight games to throw for a measly 100 yards

The truth is Vegas is very good at setting lines. Never bet on your favorite team! It's hard to fight your inherent bias.

This is the main thing right here. OP is just too bias just like any fan would be in the offseason. Everybody thinks they’re going to be better than they actually will be in the offseason, then the regular season starts and a lot of fans get their wake-up call.

Freeze is only in his 2nd season but he hasn’t really done anything on the field that should give us full confidence yet

JC overhyped it. It wasn't really good. It wasn't bad either though. Basically he is OVing USC, AU, & Colo the 1st 3 weekends in June in that order and will have a final decision before his SR year starts.

I never feel good about going against USC when it comes to a QB. Lincoln Riley gets who he wants when it Comes to QB’s and you can’t blame them if they pick him because look at Riley’s track record

I don’t think this is ENTIRELY true. You have a point that we do have a lot of talent that isn’t SEC caliber. More than we should. But honestly, if you look at any SEC program, most of their transfers are downgrading too. That’s just the portal era.

Everyone wants to be a starter. I get it. Very few are satisfied with being role players. But I’d say the talent level of the average SEC rotational player is that of a lower P5/good G5 team. That’s why these guys are going where they’re going.

Even when we rebuild the roster, we’ll still have plenty of guys that are at this talent level. And we’ll need them to contribute. Very few teams have a roster full of guys who could start absolutely anywhere.

The days of the Bama’s and UGA’s having 5 star backups are pretty much done. There’s no patience anymore, if guys aren’t playing they’re leaving

Definitely a reasonable angle. The optimistic side though would be that both sides of the ball are under new management.
We apparently had the talent to hang with bama and uga so even a small upgrade in talent and an upgrade in coaching could make a huge difference.
Big emphasis on the could and the upgrade description is still waiting to be proven

All in all it’s hard to hate someone for being either optimistic or pessimistic.

It’s going to be an interesting ride!

The iron bowl is usually always a strange game, talent gets thrown out the window for that game. Auburn treats that game like a Super Bowl. The next game after the iron bowl with a break they came out and played arguably their worst game of the year.

Freeze is a good salesman but as coaching is concerned im more on the pessimistic side right now

White is the prospect I’m most excited about. More than Coleman. Just appears to be totally bought in and know his role as a potential face of the program. Physically I’m so impressed with his build. Reminds me of Andrew Luck - sturdy, muscular, ahead of schedule for a freshman for sure. I don’t know why you’d already be down on him.

He just said in his post why he’s down on him. He said he doesn’t like his accuracy and could be a problem for him, that’s a fair criticism. But he’s only a freshman and has plenty of time to improve

He’s definitely allowed to tell his story. But I don’t understand the value in telling the world, you didn’t even want to go to Auburn. Seems like the kind of thing that could be omitted in the story.

He never said he didn’t want to go to Auburn, he just asked for his fathers opinion and his dad wrote down on a piece of paper that said “Auburn” and Cam went with that decision

I think Caddy not being there had to play into it as we saw what occurred when the dline coach moved on

Yeah this is the biggest thing. When Caddy left that pretty much guaranteed we weren’t getting his commitment. AU should still talk to him, I feel like this isn’t over yet

It was pretty accurate last spring..😂

It’s been pretty accurate most springs tbh. I knew somebody was gone bring up the Cam year but that year was an anomaly. Spring ball ain’t that serious but usually you can kinda tell how you’re going to look during the season

  10. The biggest is going to be the DL, there’s talent but there’s no depth and it’s a lot of young guys. This is going to be another rough season, Freeze should probably just play a lot of the young guys this year and just throw them in the deep end and see which ones swim

Also I hope HB really pushes for that QB1 spot, make that QB room as competitive as possible

How long has it been since we have pretty much zero info from scrimmages and practices. Yes, I know our insiders are doing the best to keep us informed. But fact is, I feel like I have never had LESS info regarding Spring Practice for years. Am I missing something?

I was thinking the same thing. I’ve never seen it this quiet during spring practices

PAC 12 had some quality teams and serious QB play. What Deboer did at Washington was amazing. Always been a fan of his. Not sure he will win as much as Saban (that may not happen for a long time), but he will certainly be successful at Bama. The SEC was not as elite as most years last year IMO.

The SEC wasn’t elite at all last year, mediocre QB play all around the league. The Pac 12 was playing the best football last year

Yeah. I like to see players commit; don't get me wrong.  But the ones who commit before they are seniors don't get me excited like they used to before NIL.

At this point I don’t get excited about recruits until they sign their NLI. And it looks like a lot of people share that same opinion before NIL took over a 4 star OT commit thread would be filled with posts. Dice’s commit thread barely has any posts in it at all smh
