The word on the street is it’s going to take +$1.5million to buy a top QB out of the portal. 🤑
It's an "arms race"...no pun intended

Anyone feel a little sorry for teams like WSU that when they find a "diamond in the rough" (I'll use that term loosely) that they really have no chance of keeping them due to NIL?
Only consolation may be that every school in their conference is in the same boat.

I had high hopes for Sledge when he signed. Any human that big should be able to play football.
I suspect however that most of these guys hitting the portal are being encouraged to look elsewhere.
Some (not all) players are in the portal for a reason. They aren't all diamonds in the rough

Rat poison!! I’d rather we just flew under the radar! A dangerous Auburn starts getting hit pieces and bad publicity.
We get hit pieces and bad pub no matter what we do.

Not an excuse, but social media is an option, not a necessity.

If it looked like an eternity on tv imagine how the guys probably felt trying to watch receivers scrambling to get open.
Hmm, if only there had been some pressure on the QB....

Yup. It's like North Korea...ppl have been predicting its regime's collapse for decades, but it's almost 2024 and it's still here.

84 for AU knocked the crap out of the punter and then laid on him. It was well after he kicked the ball. He was kinda jogging down the field when it happened
Key phrase.
Punter needs more situational awareness - if its a live play and he's on the field, he should know he's subject to being blocked. Violently, even - as long as its clean. QBs used to not infrequently get laid out like this after an interception, because they had instantly turned from an offensive player into a potential tackler. The "dont touch the QB" rules changes have, of course, put an end to that. Hasn't happened to punters yet

I think they pulled off a close one against Jax St today. They are now 10-3. They have to be in the playoff conversations
I'm sure this is supposed to make me feel better, but it doesn't.

Tonight, he played well enough to win. Wasn't his fault.

It ONLY about a lack of talent right now.
Lack of talent to fair-catch a punt?

Has to be more than 2013. Is Auburn built on an ancient burial ground or something?
Truth. This isn't the "JHS voodoo" we were looking for.

Wouldn't have needed a 2 man or any other rush if the fair catch had been executed. That was the critical failure

Life can be so cruel sometimes. The debacle of 2021; now the debacle of 2023.
On top of that, all my family are Alabama fans. And I get to see them all at church tomorrow. They are the kind that likes to rub it in.
Might need to have a conversion

Exactly. It would be absurd to fire him now and everyone knows that's not going to happen.
But we deserve to vent tonight. We lost the Iron Bowl when we had a 99.9% chance of winning with half a minute left.
The week after losing a game we had a 93.8% chance of winning before kickoff.
Let's vent.
It was nearly impossible to lose that game on the last play. But auburn, as usual, rose (fell) to the challenge.
