We need Deion in the worst way for a complete overhaul. We will lose some of our most talented players at the end of the season. What position group is a strength heading into next season? There’s nothing to even build on.

Definitely agree!! New AD has to go after him with everything we got!

  2. My god! This is getting so out of control. My heart is hurting so much for Auburn right now! I have bled orange and blue for 45 years and have deep connections with this incredible university. I have been through all the ups and downs but nothing has been to this level. The lack of urgency and importance of this administration to this matter is alarming and doing severe damage to this program. I don’t understand how anyone in a position of authority (admin, coaches, board, donors, etc.) could pretend to care so much about this program and sit here and watch it go up in flames as bad as this. Breaks my heart!

I keep seeing all these posts about what if we hire him and FSU etc come calling...you do what they do in all these contracts that you know that could be a possibility like Dabo's contract - https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/a-closer-look-at-the-alabama-clause-in-dabo-swinney-s-clemson-contract/ar-AA11Cjos

It has a specific buyout for him leaving for Bama, now I'm sure they have the pockets that could pay the fee if they wanted him but still you do something like that and not worry about all the "what ifs". Prime is my number one choice and all the what ifs are just that, sign him and get him going HERE at Auburn and enjoy what I think would be a fun ride, maybe it works out and maybe it doesn't but really at this point IMHO it would really bring some overdue excitement back into our program which is solely needed RIGHT NOW. You have Prime with our new facilities coming on line, I think from a recruiting standpoint it would garner instant positive attention, lets get this done NOW....:)

Just my .02, I have no sway but right now there is nothing to be excited about with the current football program and thats a pretty sad state.

You’re a 5 star recruit and 5 coaches are in your living room

    Saban

    Kirby

    Kiffin

    Freeze

    Sanders

who are you going to listen to and who will leave a lasting impression?

I agree with this. I think all of these would be listened to and leave a lasting impression, with Freeze being the least imo. That’s why we need Sanders to be able to compete and change the culture like BP did for basketball.

He’s been coaching since 2012 in some sort of format. Won 4 state titles as the OC of Trinity Christian in TX before taking Jackson State. The Jackson State experiment has gone pretty well too in my humble opinion.

This is Deion Sanders’ living and career. Does he have other business ventures? Sure, but so does other coaches who opens up camps, restaurants, and do commercials.

I guess if you want to go down the summer school analogy, he’s convinced these kids to come to summer school in Jackson, Mississippi, when they’ve the chance to go to summer camp. You know, the same issue the past two coaches have struggled to convince kids to come to the summer camp in Auburn, Alabama.

There may not be any hostility, but calling a ball coach that’s had to shrug off people calling him an “act” or “showman” while winning as a ball coach, where he’s had the opportunity to coach at, is pretty disrespectful. What’s crazier for me is that there’s plenty of former players who have become coaches, even Coach Gus Malzahn, Coach Bryan Harsin, etc., only difference is, Deion Sanders was a very successful player. Sanders has been in the world of football since whenever he started playing, to when he was an on-tv analyst, to now coaching football since 2012, but it’s somebody who has probably never coached a game in football who’s calling this man’s job not his “lifetime calling.”

    Pretty bush to me.

Very well said. Completely agree with everything said!

  6. I have been reading through this thread and have stated that I am all in on Deion. I have read some of us that are not sold because of experience and other things. I agree with some of you that say it’s about the recruiting.

I want to expand on what I think makes Deion a great choice. We, Auburn, need a culture change!!! That is what Deion can do. Auburn, and even some of us on this board, have been stagnant for a while now and have just accepted mediocrity. We need life breathed into the program and something exciting to look forward to!

This is what Deion can do. Not only being a great recruiter, he can bring in a great staff. You know they say you want to bring in great people to make you look better. That’s what he can do. Change culture and bring excitement to our incredible university, we definitely deserve it at this point!!

  7. Butch is just an incredible guy. It doesn’t stop at his coaching, he is just an incredible guy in every aspect of his life. I have an upcoming 9th grader that is a P/1st and I pray that he gets an opportunity to play for this staff at Auburn. I sure hope Auburn realizes what they have in him and will do anything they can to keep him, just like Bruce.

  8. Your absolutely correct Cole. Poor (sometimes selfish) guard decisions have killed us in some games. I still think we can win it all, but this has to change. That last play tonight was just atrocious. Gotta at least give ourselves a chance there.

The final out of the game was obvious but what were the other two times she did not go full speed.  She did have a stolen base.

She has not been coached as an outfielder on how to catch the ball coming through it and make the throw on the run. Could have thrown the girl out at 3rd yesterday if she had run threw the catch like Rivera did. And that is coaching or a lack thereof...

As 1947 said, this was the second thing, and if she hasn’t been coached that then that’s on the coach! Also, the third thing is also probably on the coach as well. When she stole second the infielder interfered with her so she should has instantly made an effort to third and she would have gotten it. Umpire had his arm out, coach should have definitely been screaming at her and she should be coached to know that!
