14.
Tough call but I agree with you as I think the 04 team could have won it all. The 14 team was fun to watch!

83-93 for me....mainly because we were the 1983 National Champions and for some damn reason we won't claim it. That '83 team was the best in the country. Period.
same deal, 83-93 is eleven years. So, would you drop 83 or 93? For me, I'd keep 83 and drop 93 even though we were undefeated in 93. 83 was tough as nails, they finished higher in the polls than the 93 team.

I would like to see CBH get another coaching gig, then have Auburn sign up a deal to play CBH's new team. We should have a better team after year 1 under CHF so we should be able to see how CBH's team fairs against a better stocked and coached Auburn team.
But you never know, CBH might still out scheme us... but he would see how superior talent recovers after the first play.

Silly Season content
83-93 peak Dye Era and Terry’ AUttitude, Bo Heisman, multiple SEC championships, probably the peak of the Iron Bowl.
2004-2014 2 perfect seasons, Cam Heisman, Natty, 2 undefeated seasons, 3 SEC titles, 2 national title game appearances.
I can’t speak on the Shug years but seemed pretty up and down.
My vote is 04-14
04-14 is 11 years. So if you had to pick a 10 year span, would you drop the 04 or 14 season?

I thought we played against a lot of quality QBs that season.
We closed out our season having played 5 ranked teams in a row, 4 were in the top 10! In all we played 7 ranked teams for the season (when we played them) and by the end of the season we had played 9 teams that went bowling (in 1983 there were only 16 bowl games).
If we had scored 1 more TD in the UT loss and 1 TD in the Sugar, we might have been seen differently in the final polling.
Auburn does show us as a National Champion team: https://auburntigers.com/sports/2018/6/11/sports-m-footbl-history-and-tradition-1983-champions-html.aspx

We played a lot of ranked teams that year and only lost 1 game... A season to appreciate and celibrate!

Ah yes, defensive teams to dream for again.
Offensive production was still our Achilles heel in that stretch; a few more points in a few games and we might have had a chance to play for 1 or 2 NC.
The consistency on D got us love in the poles.
Good article

While I think the Father is leaving for a chance to be a HC somewhere, I cannot help but notice he is doing so after his son has finished 4 years here at Auburn. A chance to see/coach your son play at the highest level of competition is a big draw.
This site and the fan base in general, hasn't been to kind to AF after his first season when we ALL loved his play. How would you feel as a father if you had to see/hear all the negative things about your son for years...
I hope all parties (coach, player, and fans) find good homes to continue their pursuit of happiness going forward.

So Sasser having issues with the groin injury? Could be interesting if he puts himself out Saturday.
He has to play now, there is no time for rest/rehap once march madness starts. I'm sure the playing time tonight will not help him come time to play the good guys.
Very surprised A&M is not playing well tonight.

Even UT struggled a bit. UL really gave it their all.

Houston actually plays defense. Going to be a big shock after playing Iowa.
True enough, they only lost 3 games all year... but they have a clear injury to Sasser (their star G) that is still bothering him, so it's impacting their offense to some degree their defense. If they can win tonight, Sasser is still going to be hurt come the Auburn game.

At the half
Houston 30
