Some good may come from his actions. But his dad strived to be nonpartisan in a way that made him able to reach more people. Franklin is deeply partisan and divisive. His father was far more "Christ-like".

I think a LOT of good is done by Samaritans Purse. It is quite an operation and almost always the first helpers to get to a disaster situation.

He was a decent man. He died six years ago and stopped being active long before that. Hid son’s little acorn brain fell far from the tree. A crazy wind must’ve blown it far from his father’s roots.

I guess we just disagree. I think son Franklin is a good guy and Samaritans Purse is a great charity operation bar none. I give them a  lot of money.

Evangelicals have had numerous opportunities to pick someone else other than Trump to lead them, but they keep going to the same man.

Is it because there are no Republican politicians who stand up for Christian values AND follows them in their persona lives, or what?

You seem to lump all evangelists together, And yes there are GOP politicians who follow their Christian values/beliefs. A statue of one of the greatest evangelists of our time, Billy Graham, was unveiled in the Capitol this week with several GOP politicians paying tribute.

I probably shouldn't post in this thread but here goes:

I find the concept of a rational, benevolent, all-knowing, all-powerful being that loves us to be absurd. That concept simply doesn't reconcile with what humanity has had to endure through the millennia. So no, I don't believe in a Rapture.

I wish that wasn't the case my friend since we seem to agree almost 95% of the time.

How many of those items are sourced mainly in the US? Please google the highest inflation food items for any country and it’s almost the same list ps might also want to look at impact of losing Ukrainian grains to the world market. What do cows eat?

Biden has screwed up plenty but as for inflation: do people have a clue where we get stuff to their grocery store from? Ie do you think most of our orange juice comes from Fla/US?

Interconnected world markets are great and efficient - until something’s goes wrong (wars, embargo’s, pandemics, ect)

This is long but you may be interested. It supports some of your points but not all. I guess the bottomline is that inflation is a complicated animal to deal with but all average Joe only cares how much things are costing while his wages aren't keeping up.

On the other hand -  and practically speaking -  I support our applying pressure however we can to democratize Central and South America.

The more democracy and capitalism in the world, the fewer people who desperately desire to immigrate to the US to better their lives, not to mention improving our overall security.

There's hope for you yet. But better check cooling in hell because I was sure it would freeze before we agreed on anything.😀

Not to be rude, but just by proposing this it shows you literally have no idea what you're talking about. Take our oil off the world market and you'll see Saudi Arabia and Russia laughing all the way to the bank, while our allies suffer higher prices and everybody gets pissed at us. Then you'll see economic retaliation and trade warfare. As Dub said, if you think things are bad now, they'd be orders of magnitude worse if we get out of the market.

Even if we did leave the market we couldn't make the switch immediately, because a good chunk of our refineries aren't made to refine the oil we produce in the States. They're set up for the heavier, dirtier crude that we've been importing for decades. We could be producing double the amount of oil we are now and still couldn't use it. It would take years and billions to convert existing refineries or build new ones.

You OK with Biden's policy on Venezuela?

Own your own. What investment tools are using you for research, analysis and selection? Seriously I’d like to know.

Not one thing in particular. Just do a lot of research and follow a few stocks for awhile. I like tech and semiconductor stocks in particular. Over time I have done well in Apple (AAPL) and made a killing in NVDIA (NVDA). One tool I like is the Japanese Candlestick but you have to get experience with it and like any other tool it's not perfect. I also like to do covered calls but that takes experience and time to stay on top of them. Definitely not for beginners.

You might have a better argument going if auburnatl1 was a Democrat.

I know he is not a Democrat but that doesn't change my comment. Maybe it hits home to you.

  10. ^^^^^ True for people like me who have been fortunate enough to invest in the market. But what about all the middle class and poorer folks who don't have the resources to play the market. The stock markets going up is the classic thing Democrats complain about.........the rich getting richer. Now post what the prices of things like gas, food, and other essentials are now compared to four years ago.
