Major have we lookwd into adding that major?

I personally know a girl that UAT did this for three years ago.  Not an athlete mind you.  Just a neighbor down the street.

  2. Why does anyone even care about this farce of academia anymore?  Do you think all these players in the portal are concerned whether their credits will transfer when they toss their name back in the hat?  I will always love AU because of the four years I spent there but I'm just about done with the athletic program.  D1 college basketball is now just a vastly inferior pro league.

  3. My hope is that Mr. Dior turns his life around and becomes a wonderful husband and father some day. I also hope he finishes his college career at some place other than Auburn University.

  4. The turds paid $200K for an illiterate, unproven, high school defensive lineman 25 years ago.  $1 million for an All-American basketball player is not a stretch.  At all.

Big athletic guy here. Looks like a rush end. Reminds me of one of the guys on the final four team who shot the 3 well in the tourney . Can’t remember his name. Was singing pregame a lot

One of my favorite AU players of all time, Malik Dunbar.  Dude could jump out of the gym.

  6. These conversations are fun thought exercises and no opinion can be proven. However, the notion that somehow the human body has evolved to become more athletic in the last 50 years is just availability bias.  The nutrition is better (in general), the equipment is better, and the medical care is much better.  But the athletes themselves?  Not so much.  One of the major reasons that modern basketball players appear to be able to do so many amazing things is because of the way the game is officiated (and by extension, coached).  When you're allowed to put your hand under the ball and move it around your handles look amazing.  A "step back jumper" was a turnover when I played.  I could go on and on.

You don't get the sense of how good some of these teams of the past are by looking at old videos on YouTube.  The greatest college football team I ever witnessed with my own eyes was Nebraska 1995. If you ask someone younger than 40 I can almost guarantee you that will not be the answer they give. You know, because athletes.  So based on the basketball that I've watched since the 1970's, the 2024 UConn team is not in my top 5.  Your mileage may vary.

Who would most certainly beat them?

These conversations are never ending because the response is always "A team from 19XX would never compete with todays athletes".  I'll just say that there were teams in the past that were much more impressive against their competition than UConn this year.  Take your pick from one of Wooden's teams with Walton or Jabbar.  Smith's team with Jordan.  UNLV with Larry Johnson and on and on.

I think we can agree to disagree on the huge part. The only benefit is NIL. If he returns to Bama I don’t see how that improves his game. Even if he is late 2nd round developing in the league is more beneficial than college IMO

bammer would pay him more to play one more year at uat than he would get playing in the Gatorade League on a two-way.  That's the benefit.

The “XYZ” comp has been Brunson, who’s averaging 28.7 PPG this season. Sears is 6’1”. Brunson and Steph Curry are 6’2”. How is that too small?

I could be completely wrong, but I believe Sears will make a big impact in the NBA before he’s done. He proved against UConn and everyone else he can score 20+ points on anyone.

Maybe so.  I'll come back here and eat crow if someone posts a draft projection that has Sears going in the first round (by any site that doesn't have roll **** on the page).

What’s the latest on Sears? Seems he’d be a fool not to leave. Is he not a projected 1st rounder?

Sears is nowhere near the first round. He is small for the NBA and not super athletic. There's always someone that will say "well what about XYZ?".  I'm not saying that Sears can't make a roster in the NBA but no GM is going to spend first round money on him.  Sears might be the next Chris Paul but I really doubt it.

My guess is that Captain Douchebag will empty the bank to keep him at UAT.
