  1. Think you would want what you see at A day.  Some full speed reps for guys in the playing rotation.  Mop up duty for guys eager to shine.  Minimize risk of injury to the starters.  Fans would want to see the new players on the depth chart.  Money game for a FCS school.  Think they should limit the regular season to 11 games, A Day would be part of season ticket package.  Think the extra week off during the season would be a benefit to the players.  This game would be more interesting to fans than playing a FCS game during the regular season.  I would want to know what the players think.

@cole256 Nost of the ones we had before the incoming freshman class & transfers we brought in since January simply aren't good. They couldn't run the correct routes, much less catch the ball.

Help me understand,  they could not run a precise given route or could not adapt to the coverage and run an optional route.  First is effort and desire, second requires experience, both require coaching, neither is related to ability (see Kansas State under CBS)

I personally think 17-16 game was greatest Auburn game ever. That D was so good and to block not one but two punts and return both for TD's that will be imprinted in my brain forever.

Did they not block three punts, one punt was partially deflected and wobbled out out bounds 25 yds downfield.  Special teams coach had noticed the punters 3/1/2 step punt and a flaw in their blocking scheme.  Plus they blocked an PAT which became the difference in the score.

This has been tried before at Arkansas.  Failed.  Ask Ken Hatfield and Danny Ford how working for Frank Broyles the AD that used to be the HC worked out for them.

Tried on the plains as well.  CPD / tater tot and the old assistants  Was perfect for 20 games.

I guess if you’re going to hit a home run hire, you go get the guy that just coached an NC game a couple of days ago. 🤮

What would have transpired if CGM had moved on in 2015, dunno but would not have lost any sleep .  We need to take CPD's advice from his early 1981 radio shows, "quit talking about bama and worry about Auburn".

  6. He is speaking to his current players, give the little man credit, he is always coaching.  When he says something  he is talking to someone.  He coaches 24/7    Yeah, I hate the little SOB but.

CTT would answer with a reference his undefeated season ( Coach thank you for 2004 but we are paying you millions for this year).  Ask CTB a difficult question he would talk about how his daddy did it.  CGM will write a book on coach speak,  "Offensive coach speak".  CBH will write a book on "Taking the money and run".

Please tell me why we are discussing pronoun $#!- on a football forum.

I remember Sidle. Didn't he have a decent arm,  got hurt , and pretty much ran from them on? Full disclosure, I think I remember my Dad and Uncle talking about the injury, but I remember TF and JS from the radio.

Bad shoulder senior season, stuck it out, no transfer portal NIL just a scholarship and a chance to play football at Auburn.  Only time I saw him was in a bowl game on TV as 9 yo.  When things got tough I would punch up my shoulder pads just like he did.

I mean, I'd prefer to know everything and have al the details.  No news is probably good news.  It's okay to sweep s*** under the rug and protect our kids vs tossing them out at the first sign of screw up. Now, there is a quick line that this can fall off...just gotta do well

    Can you translate concisely

I am straight up stealing this for the first week of the TD Auburn Bowl. I'll collect all of these responses (and do an "other") and do a poll for it. 30 points to the winner.

Other, on which offensive play number do we see Robby Ashford's 1st QB package play?

Well stated.  He wasn’t on my short list, but I’ve always said he is a good coach.   I think he’ll do well here and do everything he can to win over his critics.   (Some will never come around, but that’s on them)

Better be clean, the red nose bottom feeder sharks smell blood and will be circling.  He needs to swim with a purpose and surround himself with best support staff available.  I'd lend my salary to whomever is needed, not a CCM staff of yes people.

Sewanee beat AU and Heisman in 1899 (11-10). It was afterwards that Heisman left for Clemson. We should have hired Coach Suter, the  Sewanee coach, after Heisman left.  Suter went 12-0 in 1899, beating UGA, GT, UTk, UNC, and in a 10-day roadtrip beat UTex, A&M, Tulane, LSU, and Ole Miss with 18 players in a span of 6 days. Auburn was the only team to score on Sewanee during the 1899 season.

Yes, they did it by "hiring" minor league baseball players to enroll in school, got room board coeds and a chance to whip some prep school graduate butt for a semester.

Brillant strategy, until it was disallowed.  It is the same game, only the rules have changed.
