Maybe the Big12 was that bad, but I'd think you'd have to at least beat 1 ranked team to get to the Sugar Bowl 🤷♂️. I'll let someone else do the wiki searching.
I think the bigger issue from his history is his first years at Temple and Baylor were 2-10 and 1-11.....though he always progressed to the positive with these historically bad schools. But there is no way any AU PTB's would be able to handle even a 4-8 first year with a new coach. Heads would roll, people would decry the hire.....AU expects big things right out of the gate, it will be hard to let anyone "re-build" by the PTB....IMHO
Society (compounded by comparison and $$) needs all things NOW.....including a championship college football team.

Knows SEC, took KY from a nothing to a something and may look to try that again at a school with more football history and $$.

Dropping a hammer on the AU logo makes sense after that game. If they had been at just about any other SEC stadium they would have been beaten. So dropping a hammer on the SEC logo is rather lame. And why does Penn State have a sledgehammer with them?
Tank carries a sledge hammer too, you can see it on the insta. It’s all the rage with kids these days…hammers, belts, shoulder pads, one team even has a giant pencil.

I understand it meets the rules and was called correctly, but you’d think once it’s fumbled it’s a free for all.
2 questions…on the rugby style punts, if they get outside the tackle box are they far game at a tackle?
-and could a qb (who is about to get sacked) attempted a quick punt to draw a running into the kicker call to get 5yrds needed for a hypothetical 1st down? Not saying it’s a smart call, just wondering if technically possible?

Just a part of the “great resignation”
probably was told it was office only work….no hybrid options. Major deal breaker these days. 😉

B'ham>>>>Shreveport?
IMHO....As far as cities go, unless casinos are your thing, definitely Bham > Shreveport

Been away from Bham for a while didnt know they've got a new stadium. A new stadium to play in is kinda nice.
15 extra practices, and a new stadium.....trying to stay positive. 🤷♂️

Where did you see/hear this?
Maybe I misread, but a couple people made reference earlier in this thread.

Execelent point. That will be the true test.

People are saying CCL agreed to let Gus call the plays still. Where is that coming from?

This is a very telling stat. I'm liking our chances even more for a W, if not a complete blowout like the last two.
StatTiger - I'm guessing those games were pretty even split home vs away?

You're forgetting Slayton and, presumably, R. Davis. And Truitt. And it's not out of the question that Tony Stevens gets drafted. And McClain is redshirting.
Yeah, Haven't had this much confidence in our overall receiving core since, Aromashodu , Obomanu, C Taylor, lined up in 2005.

Gus mentioning that JJ, SW, aaannnddd JFIII can run the WHOLE offense is nice little plug for the Juco transfer I think.
Matt Rhule should be #1 on our List

Oh sure, I don’t disagree. But it seems like it takes a little while to even get those basics instilled and recruiting back up. I’m just of the opinion that we’re in for a few years in the doldrums of bad seasons and AU ptb’s (and fans for that matter) don’t handle those well. Which complicates any long term success one would hope for.
