CarolinaTiger 0
i've read recently in the paper that the local authorities had some information a year or 2 prior to the slaughter at columbine, that these 2 kids had talked of such an event. undoubtedly this will cause much hurt, anger, and finger-pointing by those most directly affected by the tragedy...and probably rightully so. my question is this: given our penchant for 'freedom of expression', and civil liberties, exactly what could the authorities have done that wouldn't have been seen as infringing on those guys' liberties? much like today w/ the patriot act... it's a civil liberty infringement many say, but the authorities are also getting beat up for having signals as well! seems like something is gonna have to give...just not sure what it is. ct
