What a resource this can be! We've been blessed to extensively explore...stateside and internationally, but it never could have happened without learning how to cut corners along the way. This is the place to deposit your treasure troves, too.

Starting with Atlantan Clark Howard's take..."Find a cheap flight destination in the off-season if possible, and THEN figure out why you want to go there" Backwards design!

After spending countless hours pricing plane tickets for a trip to Canada this summer, it seems like the days of roundtrip airfares being cheaper than one way are over. We ended up buying one way tickets from Nashville-Montreal and another set of one way tickets from Quebec City-Nashville. We just spent a few days in Montreal and took a bus to Quebec City where we spent the rest of the trip and flew back home. Buying our tickets this way was actually cheaper than buying roundtrip tickets to either Montreal or Quebec City and we got to see both cities, we just spent a few days in Montreal and then took a bus (there is also a train) over to Quebec City and spent the rest of the trip before flying back home.

So if you´re pricing airfares, don´t assume round trip fares are going to be less than buying a pair of one-way fares.

We honeymooned there! Seriously good advice...thank you...pricing England and Scotland for this summer, and hitting the window where international fares are supposed to be sy their lowest. We'll see!

Where, TG, Montreal or Quebec City? They are both beautiful but Quebec City is like fairy tale beautiful. The old city, that is. We went in the summer but I would love to go back in the winter.

Both! So blessed, and Halifax, Nova Scotia too! Flew Atlanta to Montreal, then train to Quebec City...saw Larry, Darryl, and Darryl ("Newhart") at the Citadel, and on to New Brunswick 🤮 where we rented a car for going on to Nova Scotia. Lots of incredible memories. Did Anne of Green Gables stuff on Prince Edward Island on family trip and knew then that I wanted to honeymoon there one day. Three years later...June...there we were!  Completely agree, fairytale nature of QC.
