Redskins' first pick Rogers gets five-year contract

Washington Redskins: Cornerback Carlos Rogers, the ninth overall pick in the 2005 draft, has agreed to a five-year contract.

The deal is worth a maximum of $17.45 million over the life of the contract with $11.23 million in bonuses. He was the first of the Redskins' two picks in the first round.

Rogers is suffering from a first-degree ankle sprain and a bone bruise in his right foot that will limit him in camp.

He was four-year starter at Auburn. As a senior in 2004, he started all 13 games and finished with 47 total tackles, two interceptions and eight passes broken up.

So barring unforeseen circumstances, we get to see both Carlos and Jason in Washington uniforms for the next five years? Guess I'm going to have to invest in some Redskins paraphernalia/clothing!

I hate the skins too. Watching our players go to NFL teams I hate is tough, but I'm glad they are getting paid and having a chance to live their dream.

:au:
