Guest Tigrinum Major
Once a player plays in a game fro a particular year, he may not redshirt that year. He can play one year, sit out the next and redshirt that year, and then still have three years remaining (example: Tre Smith played as a true freshman and then redshirted a year.) However, if a player gets injured, he may apply for a medical redshirt, based on how many quareters he played in a particular year before he was injured. Hence, a possible 6 years of eligibility (example: Daniel Cobb, who stuck around forever.) There is also a grayshirt, who is recruited, signs a letter of intent, does not enroll in school until the following January, but is eligible to work out and, I believe, practice with the team during bowl practice. (Example: Brandon Cox.) Clear? Anyone feel free to correct any mistakes in my info.
