bigsixfive 328
http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/listranker?id=432 That's a bunch of crap. Just because we got shafted last year doesn't mean we weren't one of the best teams. What happened to all the "best team in the history of the SEC" talk? I guess it was the media's way of consoling us until we could be pushed under the rug.
AUEng84 0
Not so fast. I'm looking at how we finished in the AP the last 10 years: 96 - 24th 97 - 11th 98 - NR 99 - NR 00 - 18th 01 - NR 02 - 14th 03 - NR 04 - 2nd 05 - 14th Looks like there is a WHOLE lot of room for teams above us. Now the last 25 years ... Maybe we deserve to be #17.
JacksonJ 0
If you will look, they only list those teams that have won the NC. There are 12 due to the shared championships of 97 & 03. Had the AP given AU a share last year then I would have expected to see the 04 team on the list.
bigsixfive 328
Yes, but that does not justify them leaving us out. Its not our fault we didn't win the NC. We did all we could. If everyone was honest and stop playing favorites, they'd acknowledge how good that team was. Go back and look at some highlight reels and tell me if you're not amazed all over again. That 04 football team was something special.

bigsixfive 328
I do think the Miami team of '01 was the best 209092[/snapback] Yeah, that team was brutal. Their D was plain sick and their offense took care of business every time and was loaded with talent. They're #1 on my list, followed by Nebraska.
