buzzurd24 11
I have researched this issue and I think I have my answer but I know there are a few tech-geeks here that I would like to run this by. I have purchased a Samsung sound bar to use with a Samsung 6500 LED TV. The TV manual says I have HDMI 1.3 for inputs. The Sound Bar HDMI-out is 1.4. From what I understand, this is an issue and will not work. I am assuming my best bet is using the optical out on the TV to the Soundbar. So bascially, the fact I got the TV that does everything but 3D, Samsung put HDMI 1.3 in the TV, because HDMI 1.4's main purpose is for 3D input. But, since the soundbars produce "3D audio" or whatever they are HDMI 1.4. The TV has to have HDMI 1.4 to qualify as a ARC (Audio Return Channel). Does this make sense to anyone or can you correct me if I'm wrong?
