Both those teams wanted to win more than we did, I think.

At what point does Pearl deserve criticism for NOT getting a good team ready to play?

If people want to call out BP, that’s fair. I’m not at practice, so, I’m not at liberty to say if he’s prepared them or not. The stuff I read leading up to the Wednesday night game sounded to me like BP and the staff had worked on and gone over things that needed to be done. I didn’t see those things executed on the court. These are supposedly D1 athletes, they should know how to play hard, box out, and crash the boards without the coach telling them.

Cool. I’m from Starkville. Too old to know Luke, but my mom was a pediatric NP (retired now). She used to see him.

I haven’t talked to Luke in a while, it’d be cool to have him at AU, imo.

Why is he jumping ship? Feel like he will get a lot of looks from pretty much everyone in the SEC.

I assume Dart will still be at ole miss next year, so, I guess that’s why? Im not sure. Luke’s dad is the team ortho physician for msu, or was at least. I know them, but, I don’t know them well enough to ask questions.

I remember last years OM game when Corral got hurt. Altmeyer went 8-8 on a TD drive.

Yep. He had some bright spots in the bowl game against Baylor when Corral went down as well, if I remember correctly.

I’m kinda more interested in McNamara from Michigan. I’m also curious to see if Vandagriff from Georgia finally decides to enter the portal.

Luke is a local kid for me. I know him and his family, I’d just like to see him at Auburn because of that.

Isn’t that what tends to happen. Lock him up ahead of time or after one good year and then pay him to leave 3 to 5 down the road. I so hope I am wrong about Freeze, but if he’s actually hired, then I will begin to wonder about Cohen. I mean honestly, did he make Miss State great in athletics? I’m just asking, because while football drives most bigger universities, AU is now a top 20 BB program or better, a top gymnastics program and just had a great baseball season, even being picked to be awful. Why can this school not find a worthy football coach anymore? It dumbfounds me.

No. Cohen did not make msu great in athletics.

Why isn't he a fan? I can't seem to get anybody to answer that question.

He doesn’t like the hires he’s made, I sent you a PM. The statement about Thompson was very concerning for me. I do trust this guy and what he says.

I have to listen, I'm married to one.

I actually don't think their fans are bad at all. At least not the ones I know. Now, Ole Miss is a different story.

I’ll admit not all state fans are horrible, I have a few friends that are state fans. I’ve never had any issues with any ole miss fans. I’ve been talking with one of my state friends. He is not a Cohen fan at all.He also says Butch Thompson will leave Auburn if Cohen is hired.  Apparently there’s not a lot of love there.

I honestly don't know. I've been a lifelong Auburn fan without ever attending a class. When I was exploring post-secondary education, Auburn didn't offer a path for my career choice. So I'm a t-shirt fan, as alum label us, but WHY I'm guessing it's the pre-game traditions and color scheme lol Whatever it is, it's last over 40 years.

I’m also a 40 plus year “t-shirt” Auburn fan. I was born and raised an Auburn fan in Mississippi. 30 miles east of Starkville, 60 miles west of Tuscaloosa. Talk about rough!!! My daughter has been accepted to Auburn beginning spring of 23, not sure the out of state tuition cost is gonna allow her to attend though.

  10. He has the strongest arm I probably have seen. Kid has a cannon definitely NFL level talent. He needs major help on mechanics. He gets happy feet and doesn’t progress through his reads. We were happy to get rid of him honestly. Good kid just gives you a heart attack every play. If he can get happy feet better and stay in the pocket without panicking he will be good.

That is the reply I got from an a&m friend via text when I asked him about Calzada. In another text he said the kid was tough. He’s watched Calzada play a lot more ball than I have. If nothing else his addition will add more competition that will hopefully allow all players involved to get better.

Play calling is difficult when you can't line up and run the ball at your opponent and consistently pick up 2 yards.  It becomes exponentially more difficult when you also have an inexperienced QB that lacks accuracy.

I agree. You can’t play call accuracy or experience. May could dial back the deep throws and try to hit some shorter quicker ones, maybe.
