  1. Hitting is the weakness of the Braves. The pitching did really well in the playoffs last year, but we couldn't hit anything. It was painful to watch. Our rotation will be a strength but we have to find someone that can drive in runs
  2. Yep it sucks. No opening day of any season compares to opening day for baseball, I don't care what anyone says
  3. It figures that they would play on a day when I have 3 classes instead of on a MWF when I only have one class. I'm already planning a road trip up there with some people that day though, assuming I don't have a test that day. I'm sure there will be that one idiotic teacher that doesn't recognize the importance of opening day..
  4. I meant see, not seen in the first post. But yeah, there will probably be a slump that he suffers at the beginning of the season, or he will start off pretty good, and then teams will figure him out. That's when you separate the good hitters from the average ones. Once pitchers make an adjustment to him, how well he adjusts then
  5. So does anyone seen Freddie Freeman hitting 20+ bombs this year, 85+ RBIs?
  6. No doubt man. If we can get the pitching going, especially starting pitching to where they can go into the 7th or 8th innings every outing, we'll be a scary team. Come end of March, most of our hitters will be out of this beginning of the season slump. Somehow we've turned an Atlanta Braves thread into an Auburn baseball thread haha, but as long as it's about baseball I'll talk about it all day
  7. Yeah, well from all the times I've watched Morris pitch through the years, sometimes he is effectively wild if you know what I mean by that. He keeps the hitters more off balance sometimes by not throwing strikes all the time. But yeah he's got the stuff to earn a starting job, but I know one guy who he's not taking a spot from right now and that's Varnadore
  8. Yeah I'm definitely getting on him about that one. He's got the stuff to be dominant, he threw multiple no-hitters while he was in JUCO. While it's Juco, a no-hitter is still a no-hitter. He just needs to get his head on straight. But I'm ready for that Arizona St series coming up in 2 weekends. That will be a good test of our team
  9. Dang, that's pretty good to not missed one yet. I go to church on Sundays, and then Sunday afternoons are usually for homework or naps, so I knew that I would miss some Sundays, but I had been to the others, until today. I wasn't able to make it to the one today. But I graduated from Prattville, I played there. I miss it every day. I actually played with Cory Luckie and Andrew Morris. I talk to Andrew quite a bit, we grew up together
  10. An 09 high school grad I assume then? That's what I am. And you know it, I've been to 5 or 6 already this year. Baseball was the only sport I played all the time growing up competitively, so it's my number one. Well Auburn football usually takes precedence, but I love me some baseball
  11. Yeah I do. I'm about to finish up my sophomore year. I'm in the school of business so I wouldn't have to classes like Physics haha. What about you? And yeah my brother bought mlb.tv last year, so I bummed his e-mail and password from him
  12. That's good to hear. I'm getting excited talking about it..when the Braves start playing it makes the last month of the semester go by so much faster
  13. I probably feel the same way. I went to a few games last year, and sat down the left field line when he was playing, and on some balls hit to him, it really looked like he wasn't trying at all and would come up short. When I played all my years of baseball, I always knew that if you were in a slump or playing bad, you better at least make it look like you're trying hard. I can't put up with mental mistakes or lack of effort
  14. So is it pretty set in stone that Prado, McClouth, and obviously Heyward are going to our starting outfielders? I had heard that Schafer was going to be contending. I hope McClouth keeps having a good spring, but he didn't show me anything last year. I've seen slumps before but not many that bad, and he also let it affect his base running and fielding to where those suffered. He needs to be able to contribute a lot more in some aspect of the game, or he needs to be benched quickly. We don't have time to waste with the Phillies having their ridiculous rotation
  15. D-Lowe will probably get the nod, but I still feel like Hudson should get it. D-Lowe is great when he's on, but he's can be bad when he doesn't have his stuff going. Hudson has pretty consistently good outings
  16. Yes he did. The first and third doubles he hit were crushed. The second one was a blooper over the third baseman's head, but I'll take a double any way it comes. Hinske also hit a home run yesterday. It seems like that guy hits a home run every time I see him hit. I don't think we could ask for a better pinch hitter on our bench
  17. Does that account for your name? :'( Haha somewhat. I mostly meant it for Auburn football, but I just use the word ballin a lot in every day life too. Maybe one day I'll grow out of it
  18. Man enjoy playing while you can. I played at Prattville, and gave it up when I came to school here at Auburn to concentrate on academics instead of going JUCO. I miss it every day
  19. Just wanted to say that I enjoyed hearing about a lot of the older people's auburn experiences. I'm a student at Auburn now, and it's great to see and hear the transformation that has happened, yet we all are united in our support of Auburn. Oh and we just won a national championship. War Eagle to all, young and old. We're in this together
