I don't understand getting more wrs, we already have too many that are going to want the ball. We need QBs that can get the ball to them.
I think it's pretty evident that freeze thinks we do have that quarterback. We'll see what he does now that all the pieces are in place. Remember even Bo Nix look terrible with what was surrounding him.

Lot of Tea Leaves readings for a spring game. So i might as well add mine. Not really concerned at all about the passing game. I feel like Thorne will be significantly better with better pass blocking and better targets. I am concerned with run blocking and how our backs were constantly hit in the back field last year and in the spring game. That said, with terrible line blocking our running team stats were top 3 in the SEC last year. Some how they put up yards despite this obstacle. I also think Thorne is a much bigger running threat than given credit for. I look forward to seeing what he does both through the air and on the ground.

A seemingly unappreciated skill of Thorne is his ability to pull the ball and run. He makes really smart decisions with that and can be the mobile qb we need.
We will not be getting a portal qb. I'm not sure why anyone thinks that is a possibility.

Not a lot to judge off but honest to God I think Hank Brown is our best QB
I thought thorn looks better

If the offensive line could run block I think that would open up a whole lot for Peyton Thorne

Spring game is never, zero, zip, nadda an indicator of how the team will play in the fall.
cam newton looked very very pedestrian in the spring game and the team looked very average. Won a natty.
we may be way better - or worse - than today.
Exactly

Probably what Thorne was referring to this week when he said the coaches "simplified things".
Sounds like we're in for another 6-win season.
Spring ball is always such a great Indicator👍

Yeah, hope they didn't charge for tickets to this.

Glad I didn't make the drive all the way down there to watch this running clock BS
Truly some bullcrappery. 40 minute scrimmage

Kick returners dropping balls during warmup. Brought up old feelings 🤣

Welp looks like I will be driving to Auburn for the game!!!

Are you talking 24 or 25? I’m so confused!
We return three starters in 2024 incl. a pretty damn good transfer who will enable one of those returning starters to move in a position he’s more comfortable with. In 2025 we should return two, since apparently Wright and Muskrat (only one of which should start in 2024) are juniors.
I thought we were losing stutts Britton and Jones and returning wade and Wright.... evidently i'm not seeing the whole picture

Ridiculous to say inexperienced. 🤷♂️
Aren't we losing four starters on the offensive line? Next your offense line will have less Collective years of experience
-
Step forward or step backwards or more of the same
Seems like more inexperienced this year but maybe more Talent as well. I'm thinking more the same but I hope I'm incorrect in that assessment. Thoughts? Seems like this will be the most crucial Factor and what kind of year we have next year

We will but it’s not hard being better than a team with a losing record. The fact of the matter is the other teams we are playing will also be better and the schedule as a whole is tougher.
No not all teams we play will be better next year. Alabama will be worse. Arky will still be bad. Kentucky we didn't play last year. California will be an easier game. Texas a&m will be an unknown. We should do better this year. 7 and 5 or 8 and 4 are possible and reasonable expectations with a year two coach putting a team back together in a conference as tough as this one.

Going to have to over achieve then because I see us having the same regular season record with gradual improvement hinging on the bowl game. Don’t think we see a true 180 until after this upcoming class.
Absolutely disagree. We will be a better team next year. Offensive line will be better receivers will be better running back stable will be better and more experienced. And I think the coaching staff is better and more and sink with one another. Let's revisit in 9 months

The schedule is brutal next year with Georgia and Alabama away. I'll be happy with gradual improvement each year. I truly think the thing recruits want to see is a program moving in the right direction. That and NIL money!

Auburn is about to become a recruiting juggernaut. glad this was a priority while hiring staff that have successful coachin resumes

We also have to coach and develop those players
Sure. And doesn't he have a record of doing both?

Its more confirmation of what freeze is emphasizing: That if we want to compete with the big boys we have to recruit like the big boys.

So great to see this effort at reconnecting after Harsin couldn't be bothered

Impressive then, that we've gotten the recruiting results we've had.
Impressive definitely. but is it sustainable if the top programs are doubling or tripling our NIL money. That scares the hell out of me.

So I'm assuming that if it's Kiffin we should hear something today or tomorrow. If not it's looking likely that DJ Durkin will be the hire Is this the thinking?
-
So we are still waiting on what the defensive staff / coordinator hire will look like or did I miss something? What is the likely timeline here or is it still a big question mark?

there is a difference between making it a priority and having a realistic chance of it Was 2013 the last time we beat Georgia at Georgia? 2010 for Bama? Beating two Juggernauts in away games would take a miracle.
