The parallels between the Harsin era and the Freeze era are striking. About the only differences have been no offseason scandal for Freeze and that nice looking recruiting class. And those are very important differences....now can Freeze translate that into success on the field??

I agree. However I would say that's its not just a recruiting class but a structure that should result in long term competitive recruiting. This is huge.

Is it The Maryland fiasco? Or do you think that he’s just not any good?

He’s been around awhile but that’s about all I know about him

This is the question i have. Lay the drama to the side for a moment. How did his defensive squads ranl defensively. Did he recruit well. Did his teams get better the longer he was there?

Gus had gotten us to a national championship game his first year after one of the worse years in Auburn history. Harsin was fired after two years so I would say his was much harsher than what you are giving freeze. I agree by year 3 , there should be results

The 2013 team was a lot more talented.  2012 was about coaching, not talent.

Gus was the fall guy every year harsin failed, Over and Under how many seasons Harsin will be the fall guy if we don’t achieve expectations under freeze?

Two years. He gets a chance to get his players into the system. 3rd year will be performance time or hot seat time. I expect this team to get better and better under freeze with time. Did anyone have that expectation with Harsin or Malzahn at the end?

I think after what we saw yesterday, that if Holden and Payton both left because we brought in a transfer that no one would second guess the decision.
Whatever hope that was left for a significant improvement next year from Payton took a big hit and Holden didn’t show anything better.
If this imaginary transfer ran either of them off and we flopped I don’t think many would say we should have stuck with what we had.

At this point I think lots of people would be fine just seeing what we could do with Hank at the wheel.

Sorry, yesterday was just brutal. 😣

If what we saw from Hank was a true reflection then we would have a pretty decent quarterback. But it's hard to tell after one quarter of Play From The New Guy

Here is what I would do regarding QB.

Get a QB from the portal. KJ Jefferson would be a perfect fit for Freezes offense.  He has 1 yr left. We have seen what PT brings to the table. Does anyone actually think PT is gonna improve that much during yr 2? I will take my chances on KJ for 1 yr vs another yr of PT. That will bridge the gap to Hank or Walker or whoever.  I've seen what PT brings and watched enuf of KJ to think it would be an upgrade.  This clown show this year that Hugh calls an offense isn't just on the WR. Anyone else notice the change of body language when Hank was in?

KJ would be an experienced qb with a lot of upsife if we can manage to protect him. Has there been any talk of this as a realistic possibility?

Im not responding to any if the snark comments on my posts. I’ll let results speak for themselves now and going forward. I heard all the same stuff about Gus…”give him time” “just needs a QB”  “just needs an OL” etc etc etc

Yes today is “just” a bowl game. Was New Mexico State just a bowl game?

Yeah we played bama close…so did Harsin his first year. How did that work out?

Yeah we should probably fire the guy after one year and landing us the 7th ranked recruiting class

Not if he throw the same fade he threw earlier.... I'm just saying it's not like he's throwing good balls. We are mad at the wrs for not making acrobatic catches usually. Deep balls....I missed a bunch of games so that could be on me, but I haven't seen a good deep throw yet

We saw the same thing with Nix. When you have no line blocking for you or receivers breaking open or catch for that matter then it doesnt matter who your qb is. We wont know what Thorne is capable of without a surrounding competent team
