  1. There's been a long standing feeling that tempo teams cannot have strong Ds bc of the speed at which they score. Quick scores, little rest and more time on the field for the D.

Ironically, our inept O has not been able to manage first downs and sustain drives creating a similar scenario , yet our D is stronger than ever.

Not sure what to make of that but thought it was a point worth mentioning.

Works for me. Of our best WRs going back 15 years or so, I can't think of many who were the fastest guys on the field. Taylor, Adams, Blake, Williams...

Running routes, adjusting to the ball, positioning your body to make the catch, being physical, sure hands... all more important IMO.

Any chance these were the attributes bc we didn't have a QB with elite talent (no shot, serious question)? Just wondering if ATH talent is more or less important based on level of QB talent.

How do you think he got 5* after 5* there when no one else in the country seems to be able to do that. sure maybe the record of getting players to the nfl speaks for itself now but what about the first 4 years he was there... $$$$$

Blue blood schools all over the country do this yearly. It's not just bama, they just happen to be one of them.

All the money those players get doesn't hurt either.

So if we were vying for natty's every year and had all the 5* players listing us in their top schools, we'd be buying them? The REC exists and the turds are dirty but they are a juggernaut on the field and producing NFL talent every year. I think it has more to do with that than anything else.

What irks me is the fact Bama seems to rarely go through something like this. They get one 5* QB they get another 5* to add to the class. Bit, if we get JF there is what seems to be a more than slight chance this Bo will take his talents elsewhere. I hope I am just over reacting to all of this situation.

Funny how consistent winning does that

I can understand a kid not wanting play in his dad's shadow or what ever. But I will be some kind of mad if we don't get Bo. And the turds and OSU on the list, WTH .

Well he is the #1 DT QB in the national and those 2, along with Clemson, are the current cream of the crop.

I think in a defense that rolls between 4-2-5 and 3-4 formations, you're MLB has to be able to cover. If he has the physicality to play the run, he doesn't need a ton of weight. Travis Williams played MLB at 215 in 2004. That maybe the target weight for McClain.

I've said for a while, my dream LB class would be Harris, McClain, and Tindall. I don't know where we stand with Channing Tindall, but those are my favorite guys in the class.

Cocky still his leader. FSU #2. We are in his top 5 but he has visited us the least.
