  1. Holy frijoles Batman! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a JMR sighting...no it's more (so much more) than that, it's a JMR post! Now my week is complete. Record scoring on Bama! Shivers trucks and decapitates a guy (helmet) for a TD! O-line with no sacks allowed and opening holes for runs. Bo making the throws we always knew he could make! Boobie making the runs we always knew he could make on Bama and...well he's Boobie so he does the other thing he does also (ugh). Anders is the kicker we always knew he was and then some! 2 pick-sixes with one for 100 yards! Another one second play that goes against Bama. (Priceless) Saban blows a gasket (actually a few gaskets) and I'm not sure what could be better to see on your TV than that when you couple it with an Auburn win! Fans rushing the field and getting stuck in the hedges! Gus out-coaching the coaching legend himself. A boat load of high star recruits to witness it all. And the icing on the cake...a postgame presser watching Saban lament how "unfair" it was that he was not allowed to substitute for a second time after he realized he was out-foxed! This IB is the gift that will keep on giving 364 more days and then in legend after that! With all seriousness JMR, THANKS FOR THE POST! Appreciate the insight. That did it for me. Forever grateful and forever WAR DAM EAGLE!!!
  2. I'm not a big poster (as you can tell by my total posts number) but I am a big lurker on this site. I really just peruse most of the posts except for the posts from 2 or 3 sources. Those I deep dive into and often can't wait until their next post. JMR, your post is one of those I look for on every visit. I wouldn't blame you for leaving to go somewhere where they were paying you for your insight because your posts are definitely worth it and I'm sure they take some work putting together. Just please don't end it because some dork decided to talk through his nether regions which also is where his brains apparently resides. This site would be greatly diminished without your presence, your insight and your invaluable posts.
  3. It's ALMOST too bad that Bo was as accurate as he was against Mrs. State because as accurate as he was that game is how inaccurate he was against Florida. I guess it only adds fuel to how disappointed I was and how high my expectations were. I know mine were that we would eat their defense up with slants and deep throws. No way they were going to be able to defend the dropped dime long balls and the slant missiles the way he was putting it out there vs moo state. Unfortunately, reality was a bitch. Most of his passes were off. I guess he was due for a bad (true freshman) game. I just wish it wasn't this one. Even the completions were just a shade off. 6 inches less on the throw to Seth Williams and he scores. Hit him with the wide open slant and again, he scores. Hit Sal on the crossing (instead of a foot behind) and the drive stays alive. Hit Hastings on any of the passes where he was open (overthrows) and we are in business as well. It was just that kind of night. Not just for him either. Derrick doesn't trip over his own feet and we probably get a scoop-n-score TD with all those blockers around him. Tutt trying to make sure no one gets in front of the ball had a bounce that launched it straight at him. KJ Britt with a missed tackle that goes house. That guy doesn't miss tackles he missile tackles. I'm sure there were a few more that I forgot because I remember thinking all through the game how much it was not going right for us. Gus is not without blame either for reasons other than the play calling too. How do you not remind your TF QB not to take a loss and dump the ball when we are in field goal range? I can't think that he did remind him and Bo went ahead and ran backwards anyways so that has to be on Gus. Also, how do you not play DJ Williams as good as he showed in the limited time he played last game? How do you not put Gatewood in on any of the 3rd and 1's or 2's? Or put him in at some point just to settle Bo down a little and/or see what he could do? Did Steele ever recognize how they were forcing our LBs to cover wideouts, because I didn't notice if he ever made a change for it? As bad as all that was I'm still amazed we were in that game (down only 4 points) all the way until the 88 yarder that went house. And even then it was not an impossible task (see Oregon game) with 9 minutes left if we could've just stopped shooting ourselves in the foot. Alas, it was not to be and the pedo-targeting continued until the end. I just hope the team can use this as a learning experience, especially Bo but not just him. Everyone, including the coaches, has a lot they can learn from this and they have an extra week to get to it. Lets get the bad Mo out of the way. I know we can and I think we will. It's all still out there but the margin of error just got a lot thinner.
  4. I seem to recall this guy named Tre Mason that did that regularly and with great success even (and especially) against Alabama and they couldn't stop him. So much so that Saban was begging the Refs for a second to try a super long field goal rather than having to face more of it in OT. Wound up with something like 1800 yards for the year if I recall right. Don't recall anyone was complaining about it that year though but I could be wrong on that too. Now if you want to say Boobie is no Tre, I'm good with that. Maybe Gus thinks Boobie should be able to do it or maybe Boobie can do it and even does do it in practice. I would expect a running back to be less winded after a long run than the big defensive dudes that just chased him downfield and maybe Gus is trying to exploit that. At any rate, I don't have a problem with it this early in the season especially if he's making folks think it's a tendency and setting something up for later in the season. I do seem to recall we have thrown passes out of that same setup last year and before albeit with mixed results. But hey, what do I know...admittedly, not much.
  5. Mr. Ellitor, probably a dumb question on my part but do you think taking Hall had anything to do with Gordon de-committing or vice-versa?
