  1. The entire DL looks stacked. That's as legit a 2 deep as I've ever seen on paper. Now they just need to show it on the field.
  2. But do any of the projected starters really have much experience outside of Marcus Davis? That's why it's puzzling to me to not even see any currently considered 2nd string. This is also from rivals and not the coaches so they could be way off as well.
  3. Trying to decide if it's good or bad that none of our WRs from possibly the best WR recruiting class ever really don't seem to be challenging for starting positions. Obviously that could change as the year goes on, but I thought at least one of them would be pushing for some serious playing time from the beginning.
  4. No, but Trevor Knight's passing numbers were pretty similar to JJ and he was an OK runner, but nothing special. So I wouldn't say he was some all world player to beat out. Knight never had a season with a higher passer rating than what JJ had LAST YEAR. JJ had a higher TD-INT ratio and better completion percentage.
  5. Found it. https://www.aufamily.com/forums/topic/151716-notes-on-malzahns-offensive-pace/ "During Sean White's 5 starts during the regular season, Auburn averaged 11.1 yards per pass attempt on first down. (Sean White was No. 8 nationally in producing 1st downs, throwing on first down during 2015.) "
  6. I believe Stattiger did a pretty compelling breakdown of SW and first down passing. But yes, too many times we ran PB right up the middle on first and were looking at 2 & 8-11.
  7. Baker Mayfield wasn't named the starter at this point last year for Oklahoma.
  8. Aaron Murray also is a pretty good comparison. Yeah, Arky was definitely in a bad bad place, especially on offense. Allen had very few skill players to work with his first few seasons starting.
  9. I would certainly take Allen's improvement from his first season starting to his 2nd and I think Auburn would be a pretty good team is SW could achieve that. Allen's first 2 seasons with playing experience were much worse than how SW started. Allen didn't break 50% completion percentage and his yards per attempt capped out at 6. It wasn't until Allen's JR season that he even showed much promise. SW had a completion percentage of 58% last year with yards per attempt just above 8(SW did not have enough attempts to qualify for ranking, but if he did he would have been top 30 in yards per attempt). I think if SW can get some better protection and limit turnovers he can definitely be a successful QB in a Gus Malzahn offense.
  10. Are we talking Brandon Allen production? Because they don't look all that similar to me as far as QB style. Allen is probably 3" taller and has a longer stride and throwing motion than white does. Production aside, I think Sean White looks much more like a Drew Brees type QB than Brandon Allen. I don't think White will ever reach Brees production, but he's more that style. Smaller for a QB, more athletic than many give credit for and has a more compact throwing motion.
  11. I personally don't like checking any electronic device during games, but it's pretty easy to quickly post from your phone. No need to a tablet or computer.
