  1. Couple of things: (1) Parker Carlson -- so happy for this young man from the Mobile area.   Last year I had the good fortune to travel with the team to Fayetteville for our opening series.   Parker's dad and uncle drove through the night to be there that weekend.   So happy to see him having some success.   Such a wonderful family.  (2) our coach -- last night around 8pm I tried calling him and it went to VM.   30 minutes later he called me back and said he missed my call because they were on the bus headed back to the hotel.  I told him he is still the same coach that made undrafted out of high school Casey Mize the #1 pick, the same coach that took us to 2 CWS.   He was very appreciative and said he and the staff never saw this coming.   He said he was embarrassed for everyone who loves Auburn.   No excuses.   just straight up I owe every Auburn fan an apology.    And today we get a W.   I texted him and told him I'm going to call Wednesday night but don't answer.   Wait 30 minutes and call me back.   He responded "I am so going to do that."   Watch us sweep Bama!!!!

Tough to get consistency with that kind of turnover at one spot.

I agree with the tenor of Power's post, but PTB hit it on the head.   CBT is first a pitching coach.   Even if Teaford might not be the answer, CBT is still on staff. Coaching isn't the reason we have back to back games where we give up 6 homers.    The reason we give up 12 homers over 2 games is because of the players throwing the ball (and the players hitting the ball).   We have guy on staff who 2 years ago was a legit 1st rounder when he became eligible and because of injuries he pitched 5 innings last year and still isn't right this year.   Not only do you lose the very good quality innings he would have given us, but it forces you us to fill those innings with someone down the depth chart.   Because of our scholarship limitations, we have no room for error in missed evaluations or injuries.   Having the 2 HS shortstops go in the draft and then the Sacred Heart kid go in the draft coupled with the kids we had drafted last year -- we are simply in a hole.    And no one hates it more than Butch!!1

Even worse is that, with LSU and Florida also really struggling, it appears that the SEC is really down this year. So really inexcusable to be 2-13 right now.

But, we haven't played LSU and Florida.    Every SEC team we have played is in the top 20.

  4. We gave up 12 HRs in the last 2 games.   In years past we had a Mize or a Thompson that you knew was going to win their game.    2 years ago Gonzo was that guy.  You knew going into any series he was likely to win his game and if you won one of the other two you won the series.   Last year we paid him a lot of our NIL allotment, and he pitched just 5 innings all year.   This year he is at least toeing the rubber, but he has suddenly become very average.   We are currently 2-10 in the SEC.   If Gonzo were right we would be 5-7 and nationally ranked.

Anyone who takes an in-depth look at the statistics of football injuries would never let their minor child start playing the game.

I don't know Mikey.  Your point may be focused on "minor" as in when is the right time to start.    Overall, there injury issue is certainly better now than 30 years ago when getting knocked out meant you got woke up, eventually, and sent right back in.   No injury is a good injury no doubt.  But, football teaches life lessons like maybe no other activity.   Learning to be on a team of 100 guys, learning to be a team leader of 100 guys, learning to push yourself past what you thought was ever possible, experiencing the highs of wins and the lows of losses and learning from each.  I was fortunate enough to play high school football and college baseball.   I learned more about myself and grew more as person playing high school football than I did playing college baseball.   And, I enjoyed HS football more.   Baseball is a team sport in some ways, but it is also a lot of you at the plate alone facing a pitcher.  I didn't have any football injuries of note.  In baseball, I broke my nose -- a high inside fastball on a failed bunt attempt, and broke a tooth (at freakin Alabama's rock hard field when a ground ball came up and into may grill). Both probably caused concussions, but we didn't know such existed in the 80's.  I managed to overcome them and became a lawyer -- a low bar I know.  Our son played both in high school.  He suffered no injuries in baseball and only a dislocated elbow in football (which led to him deciding he wanted to be a doctor).   He just finished his second year in med school and is starting rotations in 2 months.  He did have 2 teammates who died after high school in separate drug deals.  I get what you you saying.   But, if we studied young adults and car wrecks, we wouldn't let them drive.

10-4 Auburn.  Waited until the 8th to take the lead.

Yes we sleepwalked between the first and the eighth.   It was a tough night.   A strong wind made it feel colder than it was.   Of course Ike and Croitchfelt didn't even wear sleeves.   down 4-3 top of the eighth CBT pinch-hit for Stansfield.   The kid from Auburn high doubles off the wall.   Buddy Pierce followed with. home run.  We had been behind the whole game and had some bad ABs and suddenly were are up by 1.   We scored 7 in the inning.  The pinch hitter hit another double in the same inning.   With Chris Stansfield struggling at the plate rn, we may see a lineup change for a while.   The same kid had 2 pinch hit homers in Texas.   Good night to be Tiger.   I do not believe we have lost a midweek game this year.

Know he came in with a good resume and seemed to be a good person. Think the transition was bad timing for his style of baseball.
Through all we may have been as well off keeping Renfroe. Couldn’t stand his small ball and “take” good pitches mentality though.

Renfroe was my position coach....   We needed to give him a chance.   But, we also needed to move him along.  Pawlawski was a bad fit.   My son went to a camp there.   Pawlawski was nowhere to be seen.

I know that Penta had just thrown 4 straight balls to walk a batter, but he pulled her way to early. You could tell that she was frustrated by that.

I hear the commentators for 3 straight weeks talk about the relationships that the other teams have with their coaches. Then I look at our team and see Dean's interviews and there's a clear disconnect there.

He was never a good fit and should have never been hired.   I bet Cohen makes great hire.
