  1. @augolf1716 I had the pleasure to play some courses in the Boca area that had "air conditioned greens."   Not fans around the greens blowing hot air across the greens, but a system, as I understood it, that blew cool air up from the bottom of the greens.   IIRC they were bent greens but that has been 20 years ago and several bottles of Cab so I maybe remembering wrong...

Not sure about that yet. Ohio St has a couple classes I have to look at & crunch the numbers. I got work soon so it might be tomorrow til I get to it.

Well, since E didn't get back to us before EOB today, we can safely assume he crunched the numbers and the numbers confirmed this WR class is the best of all time!!!!!

Freeze wasn’t my first choice, but the moment I learned he was the choice of those who heavily fund the NIL, he became THE choice.

THE reason AU is doing so well in recruiting is NIL. Sure, Freeze does very well once he has a recruit’s attention, but without NIL, AU is not getting the attention of every major recruit in the SE and is still stuck somewhere between 11-20 in recruiting.

Viper, regarding the first sentence = 100% agree.   Regarding the 2nd and 3rd sentence, I'm not sure NIL is THE reason.   I think someone like Taterhead, even with our NIL, would not have been able to pull off a class like this one.  On the flip side, CHF couldn't have pulled off this class without NIL.   In my mind, NIL simply puts us on a level playing field with UGA, BAMA, Florida etc., it doesn't give us an advantage over them because they have the same NIL $$$$.   Our advantage was CHF, CMD, CZE, DL and LB coaches working just as hard if not harder than every other staff and their ability to create meaningful relationships in just 1 year...

Just my .02 cents but religion/politics really should be separated from the sports forums.

But, do the facts that our staff is very vocal about having a relationship with Christ, uses it in recruiting and some of our recruits are impacted by it change the equation?   For example, the kid that got this class started has been real clear that Freeze's relationship with Christ was a reason he choose Auburn.

Freeze was hired particularly cause he can recruit.  We are seeing that now. Next step, on field development.  Need to stair step. Get better each year,  stack 2 or 3 classes to compete with the upper SEC. Headed in right direction.

100%.   And, recruiting and development are very closely related.   The % of 5 stars who get "developed" is much higher than the % of 3 stars.

Brian Kelly hasn't impressed me either. Last year he won the SEC West and beat Alabama but he also got blown out at home by Tennessee and lost 38-23 to a 5-7 Texas A&M team the last week of the regular season. Both years that BK has been at LSU, he's had Jayden Daniels as his QB and they've gone 19-7 overall. Thats not bad but it's definitely not what the school expects.

At LSU, when you have the Heisman trophy winner at QB and alot of talent on your roster, you can't be losing 3 and 4 games every year or they'll send you packing.

I feel like they misused Harold Perkins this year.  He had 5.5 sacks as a sophomore vs 7.5 as a freshman.   They lined him up all over the field this year vs letting him get after the QB.   I don't follow them enough to know the reasons behind their decisions.

It's not really all about the make, the worse thing is not shooting... They can't fix that. As long as he is shooting and his form looks ok thanks something they can work with. There's a bunch of guys in the NBA now that shoot that couldn't in college. Also a bunch of guys that couldn't shoot them in college and still can't.   As long as it's not excessive, and 15 isn't really enough to come to a conclusion he can't shoot.

I was always taught whatever offensive rebound and steals I get were MY possessions. I'm sure he has some thought similar to that.

I hadn't thought of NBA coaches thinking they can fix it if the form looks good.  Makes good sense.   Appreciate it.

He wants to go to the league, therefore he needs to show he will shoot the 3

Would you add to the end of your statement "and the ability to make it?"   RN he is putting on tape that he can't make them.   I guess he needs to keep trying hoping things will change...   But at some point, you are who your stats say you are.   0 for 15 isn't a huge sample size, but it also isn't negligible.

    Worked for Bball

Which team do we think was in a worse predicament?   Which is the better rebuild job?   Bball had not been relevant for years and years...  CHF hasn't "rebuilt" yet but dang it feels like it is close....   In Bball you only need a handful of players to make a diff.   Football you need a small village.  Will we know the answer to the second question in 2025...
